Wind was nasty yesterday, but evidently better conditions today.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Overcast skies weren't a problem for the fourth day of the 2009 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Chillier temperatures and a light wind from the north allowed many pilots to take flight from the field or compete in Fiesta Hold'em.

I watched that on the 10:00 news last night. I was injured in a hot air balloon accident, and I have to tell you that he is lucky to be alive. Falling 20 feet could have killed him. I cracked some ribs, knocked both knee caps loose and messed up my spine. It took four operations to put me back together again. Needless to say, I will never take a ride in one again!

Big pilot error for hitting that building, passenger was very lucky he wasn’t killed or paralyzed.

Risk, sometimes, is a forgotten factor on a calm sunny day.
Looks like the passenger was not prepared for the collision with the tent.

Prayers for the fellow.

I pray he and the pilot discover situational awareness as well.
