I'm just curious...who's concerned and what to do.

Ok, so like most on this thread I have called and written my senators, Congressmen and Governor. Out of the 12-15 correspondences I have not one single reply. I have gone to the TEA parties, 9/12 in DC and a Town Hall. I have written in our local paper, continue to send and forward emails and PRAY EVERY SINGLE DAY!

However, last night I had a very disturbing dream which delved deep into my psyche... Honestly, I am concerned. More than I wanted to admit and more than I ever thought. I am concerned for my children, for my job, for my wife.....needless to say for our future, but most of all for our freedoms! Our God given freedom that seems to be chipped away day by day, little by little. I feel so helpless for the first time in my life, I really feel completely and utterly helpless. At one time I "trusted" the government, but now I see them as arrogant, ruthless power hungry fascists who care for no one but themselves. I see a media that favors government rule and is not reporting on corruption, scandals and loss of freedoms. I see a media and government that treats us...the American citizen like terrorists and a threat. We are treated worse that Hamas, Iranians and Marxists. I see an America where [still] half of us just don't see our freedoms and standard of living disappearing right before our eyes. Where morals and values are frowned upon and laziness is rewarded.

I am stocking up on food, ammo, etc....but it should not come down to this!

Don't waste time railing against reality. It *has* come to this, and it *will* come to a shooting war with these people. They want it, they're pushing for it, and by golly, they're going to get it.

So continue to do what you're doing, but accept it, don't play the "shoulda/coulda/woulda" game with yourself.

All the coming travails are going to end, and humanity is going to begin a hyper-Renaissance the likes have which has never been seen.

But we're going to build it on the unmarked graves of tyrants and their evil minions.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

I believe I do understand and like I said before I go by the motto on the New Hampshire license play “Live free or die”!!

My concern is we are getting dangerously close to the line of “hopelessness”....I dread the day we hit that line!! I think March of 2010 will be the fulcrum...

Of course I don't know you, otherwise why would I ask that question? It was just that, an honest question.

So what are your thoughts on what to do? What is your idea of what we should be prepared to do?

I have done everything possible within the system to make my reps aware of my position. To no avail. I will continue to work within what is supposed to be a democratic system, but have serious reservations to any success.
I have now switched modes and am preparing to be as self sufficient as possible. I am lucky to have enough property to grow and raise my own sustenance. And more importantly, I have armed myself and will continue to do so. I have a strange feeling that we will be read about in the future history books.

Not give up. Change tactics. Voting and marching is a waste. You can become more “procactive” or you can hunker down and

When you see rain clouds coming you can do one of three things:
1. Ignore them and hope they go away. (foolish)
2. Try to build a REALLY tall wall to stop them. (foolish - know your limitations)
3. Make sure your roof is in good shape and prepare your property to weather the impending storm.

I am going with option 3. Option 2 has proven to be useless.

Yes, I got you, and here’s what I’m saying: Town halls are high profile, even if the MSM doesn’t cover them, and even if others in the media ridicule the participants. People who understand the urgency of our situation are finding that they are not alone. I think we’re thinking along the same lines.

I look at it as the point of critical mass. When enough people realize what is happening, i believe a goodly portion of us will rise up and live by NH's motto.

God be with us!

Sorry, but until 2010, there is another option.

Thanks for your post now I don’t feel like I’m alone in my “stocking” habits. I have bought plenty of canned goods and plenty of “commodities” to protect it with! I do need to locate some property in the midwest...However, being in NJ I can only get out via bridges or go 2.5 hours north then head west.

I work with a man that lived in Russia and he ALWAYS had a point where family and friends would meet if the need should arise. He always had 10-15 gallons of extra fuel, flints, canned goods, water and ammo....land nearby to meet then regroup.

I’ve done that several times here on FR...but folks aren’t organized and ready to do what it takes - too much fear. Instead, they are content to spend $ going to D.C. When we stop organizing for media attention (which is useless), and start organizing for impact on our elected officials, then we’ll be getting somewhere.

I'm not putting down town hall meetings at all. I think they serve many purposes. As i said before, leaders can come out of them. Leaders with skills like organizing people for instance. And ideas. Ideas for how to fight back, how to reach people, how to counteract govt propaganda to name a few examples.

I'm just thinking "out loud" here, because there is so much thinking that has to be done and so much action that has to be taken. And it needs to be happening now.

That's why this is not the time for people to ridicule other peoples ideas. That is still going on here. It's an old FR tradition, but there are more constructive ways to build on ideas. Cutting other peoples ideas down does nothing to move our cause forward. You haven't done that but i've gotten some of it recently as have a lot of other people who are trying to think outside the box because that's where the game is being played now.

You are not alone. Just last night I had this conversation with my husband. We were talking about how so many people are depressed because of what is happening to our beloved country. We feel trapped into staying with the status quo. Afraid to make a move because the economy is so bad, like we have no options. We desperately want to leave the northeast but our jobs are here and I suppose we should be thankful we still have them. Our youngest son just graduated from college last May and is working for hourly wages in a field he didn’t even study. My oldest son is working two jobs to take care of his family. Our children defintely are looking at a lower quality of life than we had. And our retirement is looking bleaker by the day. We don’t have a party to represent us. Yes, I’m very concerned.

This is the point we are at with our government....In simple terms, how does a child get through to irrational, tyrannical parents?

What can that child do with limited resources and lack of “public” support?

And, yes, the people are deluded.

I think a lot of those people just haven't got to the "acceptance" part yet.

It's difficult to realize we have a man in the White House who's on a mission to destroy America.

We will not solve things in one big swoop. It took us time to get here, after all. It takes millions upon millions of people like you to make things happen.

I just posted an article on Contract From America. Their address is http://www.contractfromamerica.com/Idea.aspx . You can join their site and then make suggestions as to what laws you would like to see passed. It will make the Tea Party movement more targeted in its goals, IMO. It’s something else you can do.

Just remember that the town halls this summer dramatically changed the debate on health care. We are making a difference. As long as a lot of us feel this way, we will have an effect.

It might be we have more resources than we think. I hope so anyway. The governments resources are OUR resources after all. And as for public support, it's our responsibility to be brave and stand up to our liberal neighbors, friends and family and hound them until they get it.

It's a start. But you ask a very good question. Maybe others will have answers.
