FReeper “melancholy” had asked that I post the photos he took of the 912 March on DC.

Due to time constraints and a few computer problems they were not ready to post until now. My hope had been to have them posted by yesterday in celebration of the three week anniversary of the March, but alas I failed. Guess now I will be inducted into the Obama Fail Club.

And now a word from the photographer extraordinaire: (only because he insisted and he’s the BOSS!)

“Justa,
My deep and profound appreciation fails to describe your hard work and sleepless nights to put this thread together. Thank you very much for helping a picture-posting, terribly challenged FReeper, moi!
I couldn’t have possibly shared my pictures with the wonderful FReepers on the best conservative forum in the world.
Thank you again.

"Thanks for the links. Good stuff there. The first link wouldn't open. I'll try again later."

The page kind of loads slow because there's so many pictures. When it first loads you may see a red x where a picture should be scattered among the other pictures. Just refresh the page and the pictures should open. If they don't, left-click the x and then click "open picture" in the window that pops up. He got some fantastic pictures of people of all ages from all walks of life!

Excellent...I'll try later when there won't be so much traffic. Thanks for the input.

That is another thing I briefly touched on putting the thread together...the vast assortment of folks. From little ones in strollers to the lady in a wheel chair holding a sign saying she is 91 and not ready to go yet! Simply amazing! And yet the enemedia feels free to ignore the entire day.

Remember the "old" days when 2-5 screamers would show up somewhere that President Bush was to appear and that is all we heard about for days on end until the next time 2 or 3 would show up to protest President Bush. I really do despise the enemedia!

Couple of things I left off before.

And the Capitol Police said “Thank YOU” to the group I was in as we returned to Union Station.

I'm not surprised. They were probably happy to be on duty that day. I was joking with them and asking where the riot gear was. They were laughing and showing me how all they had to do was put a piece of plastic streamer up and ask that we go to the right. "And you all did it!", one officer said in amazement.

This is how I am used to seeing the police in DC when they are on duty for a march through the city.
anti-war BS

This pic is from mid March 2008 in front of the Recruiter's Station on 14th St. in DC. 100 or so anti-war commies decided to march through the streets, without a permit, hurling rocks and paint bombs. Kristinn, Basil, trooprally, TrueBlackMan, Flora McDonald, me and a few others were standing between the officers and the Recruiter's station.

I'm not picking on you...but you had some good points I wanted to comment on. Well, this one isn't so good, IMHO.

Next year will be better . . . but we’ll need to gather sooner and plan to leave Freedom Plaza at 8:30 or 9 AM, because I imagine there will be twice as many people.

Gathering earlier will not aleviate the problem, and may hold down attendance for many that drive in. There were a number of folks I know, including the photographer for this thread, that made no attempt to get to Freedom Plaza prior to 11:30 for the beginning of the March. Others went directly to the Capitol, skipping the March altogether.

Also, families with young children or older family members have a lot to do to prepare to attend an event such as this. If they have to start at 6 or 7 AM they may decide it is not worth the effort.

No, simply make the congregating area a much larger venue, not some little speck of a park that most had never heard of! Gather at the Washington Monument or Constitution Gardens. It wasn't the time that was the problem, it was the place!

A meal is a meal, is a meeeeaaal, fercryinoutloud! I quite realize it wasn't at Sardi's or Maxime Paris. The company is what counts! It was mmm mmm mmm, however.

Oh, Gee, I forgot to continue, I got programmed already...Barack Hussein Obama, mmm mmm mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, and of course, DEATH TO AMERICA!!!!

Wonderful pictures.

Thank you Guenevere, but melancholy took the pics. I simply posted them for him.

IIRC, you were unable to attend the event. I hope these photos and commentary made you feel a part of the historic event that was the 912 March on DC.

Awesome! Glad you had a local event and you were able to participate!

Do you know if there is a thread somewhere with a round-up of all the local 912 events across the country? By the time I got home from DC, any threads were buried by the DC event.

WooHoo! Thanks much!

Just coming in from a new freeper who is one of the Allen West supporters.

Excellent -- a new FReeper AND an Allen West supporter!
They don't come much better than that!

There is a pic on the first page of the 2 women dressed like the Statue of Liberty. They were awesome, but no one else I've talked to saw them.

There was so damned many people, if the statues of liberty were set on fire you could’ve missed them.

I was supposed to meet up with several people I’ve been working with over the years but only know electronically; Never happened, the traffic was so bad and the events were so well attended, we jut couldn’t find each other.

That’s ok.
