Actually, Rush broke laws...Letterman didn’t. Doctor shopping is against the law. Having sex with your staff is probably against Corporate policy, but as far as I know, there’s no actual LAW that was broken.

It was never proven Rush broke any laws, he was just accused of it but has always denied he doctor shopped. He was never tried or convicted. At that, the very liberal scum DA accepted the settlement, which specifically didn’t include an admission of guilt, to drop the issue. If there were evidence of said crimes, especially with an activist DA, he could have run with it and destroyed Rush.

I know, but when a person is in pain, I don’t blame them for trying to do whatever (within reason) to relieve it.

In addition, Rush did not take advantage of a co-worker which, in my opinion, is worse.

DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. :-)

Having sex with your staff is probably against Corporate policy, but as far as I know, there’s no actual LAW that was broken.

There are sexual harrassment laws, and hostile work environment laws.

Let's say, just for the sake of argument, that Letterman's affairs with his staffers were consentual and not a part of a power-sex move, so harrassment is not the issue.

There is still the creation of a hostile work environment at play. How do the other women in the workplace feel, the ones who did not have sex with Letterman? Will the be suspicious of any perceived favoritism towards those who did sleep with Letterman? Will the think, rightly or wrongly, that the only way for them to advance is to sleep with Letterman?

Consider the Clinton/Lewinsky affair. The person who was not involved in the affair but suffered the most from a hostile work environment was Betty Currie. She had to hide Clinton's gifts to/from Lewinsky. She had to take Lewinsky's cats. I'm sure she didn't expect that to be the responsibilities of the personal secretary to the POTUS. I'm sure she didn't like being put in the position of lying to others to cover for the boss.

That's why corporate America has both sexual harrassment laws and hostile work environment laws. Hostile work environment is more than just putting centerfold pinup posters on the wall.

Sorry but Rush was proven to not be doctor shopping...all the doctors were in the same practice....Do you support Roman P also....? coercion for sex is not the same as addiction to pain killers..

I am your boss, sleep with me or I'll fire you...

Sleep with me or I'll see to it that you never work in this town again..

Or.....sleep with me or I'll tell you husband you already did....

“...there’s no actual LAW that was broken.”

God’s Law...Ten Commandments...something about not committing adultery.

Those staffers look pretty young...and so does Letterman’s wife...what’s up with that?
