I love Rush..I do. But if my memory serves me correctly, he came forward about his vicodin addiction ONLY when he found himself being blackmailed...am I correct? I love Rush..I dislike hypocrites. Tell me where I'm wrong.
This is the same as a fake combat vet beginning his "there we were" story with "this is no sh*t". Any article that begins with a qualifier is BS.
It depends on what his criticism is directed to in terms of Letterman’s behavior. So far I have not heard Lindbaugh say anything that could be considered hypocritical. Also it seems to me that allegations of hypocrisy must apply to comparable situations which, by the way, do not appear evident in Letterman case. Last, to look for hypocrisy in every instance of criticism seems to be of a minor significance when judging personal actions based exclusively on the circumstances involved. In this case, I see irony as the more compelling aspect of this story, not hypocrisy on the part of any one who may be critical supercilious Letterman’s character and behavior.
Let’s see...one person get’s hooked on prescription drugs because of back pain which would render him a victim of circumstance (if he weren’t a conservative talk show host)
Another skewers politicians for moral travesty’s all the while banging his interns. I don’t know...sounds pretty cut and dry to me.
It was never proven Rush broke any laws, he was just accused of it but has always denied he doctor shopped. He was never tried or convicted. At that, the very liberal scum DA accepted the settlement, which specifically didn’t include an admission of guilt, to drop the issue. If there were evidence of said crimes, especially with an activist DA, he could have run with it and destroyed Rush.
NO, It’s not. I LOVE RUSH... Rush once told me, on air, that I gave him an orgasm. I’m just bringing up something I thought was interesting for discussion...people are so testy.
I am wrong here, he merely was accused of attempting to get more Oxycontin illegally, never proven. Attempting to get more than one doc to write Rxs to continue with pain meds happens each and every day, especially for chronic pain for which there is NO treatment that works and NO cure in sight!
Rush went on his show and told us most everything. And I respected him for that.
PLUS, many times an addict is the last one to admitt that they really are under the control of a substance.
Lettermen is a GROSS hypocrite because he was trashing Palin’s family all the while bonking employees...
He was rather up front about going into therapy for a month.
Rush’s addiction was to prescription pain killers following back surgery, not recreational drugs. Huge difference.
Limbaugh was never blackmailed that I know of.
I have to clarify what I wrote..I WAS NOT REFERRING TO RUSH when I said scumbag...I was referring only to Letterman (and Michael Moore)...I see how it appeared that way now and I’m mortified....I really, really love Rush. That’s why I cringed a bit when he said what he did.
“Drug addiction is a victimless crime.”
Huh?
Ever wondered why they are called “mind altering substances?”
People rob, lie, cheat and get violent for and under the influence of drugs.
Children, spouses, parents, neighbors, workmates (if any) will tell you that addiction is NOT victimless.
Sleeping with one's subordinates isn't a crime, period. unethical, sure, but not criminal.
Sure you love him.
No, it’s not hypocrisy. And if it were? He should still talk of it.
Unless you are of a mindset that if you have ever said one thing, and done another, that you are forever barred from condemning and repudiating it. If that’s the case no one could say anything about any number of sins. That’s the argument of a Liberal. One I don’t prescribe to.
The only time I would differ is if the person condemning the behavior while having done the same, hadn’t acknowledged their failing and owned up to it. Than I would advise they clean up their own house first.
You know how many firefighters, laborers, and others who have had similar surgeries became addicted to Vicodin? Quite a few.
Chronic pain is a dangerous condition, and there’s not a lot of decent options for it.
I doubt this will humble Letterman..unless, of course, he loses his job. Which is all he really cares about.
Not long after that Rush started dating the ‘jag’ from Jacksonville.... DO you really want to have this discussion????
He was all doped up when he said that.
He realizes the similarity's as far as the blackmail.
