I know Jon’s motives are suspect, but whatever it takes to get the kids out of the spotlight.
I watched the show for 2 years because I enjoyed the children so much. Jon and Kate’s couch time was the worst and the least necessary part of the show.
Kate was on Jon all the time ... I mean all the time. He never fought back probably because he didn’t want to air their dirty laundry in public.
Now they are just another dysfunctional family with an entitled American woman and a guy going through a midlife crisis about 10 years early. Even if one doesn’t care about what’s best for the kids, watching another marriage breakup just isn’t that interesting.
His spinelessness was a big turn off for me. He let his nag of a wife hound him constantly, and over time I found myself secretly hoping he'd snap and give her the back of his hand.
Now THAT would make good TV!
