I used AVG and noticed the same thing. I switched to Avast! and problem solved. Been using the Avast! free version for over a year now and I am very satisfied.
I’ve used Avast! free for two years with no problems — I’m very happy with it!
Amen to Avast!
I did the very same thing for the very same reason.
I have had no infections whatsoever with Avast! and I recommend it highly, along with the Comodo firewall (also free.) A very effective combination in my experience. I never have trouble or worries.
I've been using Avast for several years. It works great.
Haven't found any reason to switch to the new Microsoft stuff.
I switched from AVG to Avast for awhile, but got very annoyed with the damn software flapping it’s gums like a petulant kid, telling me it had upgraded the definitions or whatever. Sometimes I leave my speakers on and I absolutely hate any software that talks without being axed ... so it had to go bye bye.
Back to AVG, which works fine for me, and does NOT slow my machine down at all (quad core with 4 gig ram)
