(That seems to be the idea behind a new article out today)

According to a well known, and outspoken leader from the left it’s a good bet that the state will legalize Pot next year.

Part of the reason?

The state needs...

Nobody is impressed or even cares in the least about your legal nit-picking.

I caught you lying. Again.

Whether You Like it or Not - California Will Legalize Pot Next Year!

Because you and Willie Brown say so? Dream on.

San Diego’s are not the only police in the nation shutting down dope dens.

Oh. Were 30%+ of the marijuana "clinics" in the country shut down last month?

>demand in San Diego is dropping

You tiny, biased sample falls flat at proving what you’re trying to make it say.

“767 men and women who were booked into the Central Jail, Vista Jail and Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility consented to being tested for marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and PCP, according to SANDAG.”

This study has nothing to do with the broader market.

You should try to stay focused on the issue at hand, as this excellent editorial does:

Now the San Diego City Council has decided to — you’ll never guess — actually, you probably will — create a task force to study the medical marijuana problem; appointments to the 11-member task force recommended by Council President Ben Hueso is listed as ITEM-125 on the agenda for Tuesday’s City Council meeting. And, to be fair, the medical marijuana problem is, in fact, complicated. The city has no real guidelines, for example, so the joints can open just about anywhere that’s zoned commercial. Nobody even seems to be quite sure of how many there are in the county. And - can just about anybody run them? Can just about anybody get a prescription? Is it better to use one rolling paper, or two? Is the scene with the apes at the beginning of “2001: A Space Odyssey” supposed to have really happened, or is it allegory?

But the real problem lies in the premise: that what we are dealing with is some kind of special, deadly serious issue, when it most certainly is not. Marijuana is simply not very harmful, and everyone with a lick of sense knows it. Of course it can be abused, but so can dark-chocolate nonpareils, which is why my mother makes sure there’s only a small handful of them in her apothecary jar when I come to visit.

All of the complications, headaches and frustration we’re grappling with right now spring from nearly a century of American society’s ground-level, fundamental bungling . Cannabis was demonized for a goulash of reasons we won’t rehash here, but not one of them passes the Martian test: Could you explain this to a Martian and not sound like an idiot?

This study has nothing to do with the broader market.

It has to do with San Diego, where you have been claiming that enforcement will have no impact on use.

You're losing air.

>30%+ of the marijuana “clinics” in the country shut down last month?

You could shut down 100% of the “clinics” and it still wouldn’t change the price of weed.

If that’s not the definition of impotency and mission failure, I don’t know what is.

And it’s not a purely pragmatic issue. There’s a Constitutional principle at stake. Do you support the 10th Amendment or not?

Let's try it and find out.

This study has nothing to do with the broader *San Diego* market. Sorry I wasn’t mathematically precise enough for your nit-picking, dissembling lawyer parsing.

Carry on shystering; it must be hard work to pretend to be so obtuse!

Not gonna happen, and you know it. Your reversion to contradiction is childish and your simplistic, wishful thinking is pathetic, impotent fantasy. That’s why, Whether You Like it or Not, California Will Legalize Pot Next Year!

>Broader?

[Definitions of broad on the Web:
not detailed or specific; “a broad rule”; “the broad outlines of the plan”; “felt an unspecific dread” ]

The San Diego market for medical cannabis is much *broader* than the tiny sample of prisoners sampled in your study.

Nice catch. You must have RTFA, where is says that California Will Legalize Pot *Next Year* (Whether You Like it or Not).

Are you going to support the 10th Amendment when they do, or expose yourself as an enemy of the Constitution and the People’s Liberty?

I’ll take that as the closest you’ll come to admitting you were proven wrong. Thanks for cutting the Sore-Loserman act, it was getting old.

you were proven wrong.

Backwards. All of the evidence regarding the San Diego market has gone against you so far.

And every time you're proven wrong, you pout and claim it's "nitpicking."

Which relies on an unnamed leftist and Willie Brown to support its baseless speculation.

Fine. You tell us what the price of weed in San Diego is, and how much the Big Impressive Raid has changed it.

Visit any of those drug dens and ask them yourself, if you really need the reality of the facts on the ground to slap you across your recalcitrant face. They will all confirm the following:

The day before the busts, weed in San Diego was about $300/oz.

The day of the busts, weed in San Diego was about $300/oz.

The day after the busts, weed in San Diego was about $300/oz.

The week after the busts, weed in San Diego was about $300/oz.

One month after the busts, weed in San Diego will be about $300/oz.

Just give them a call. Don't be too chicken to consult primary sources, especially if you're going to play dumb with secondary reports like High Times's TMHQ.

And it’s not a purely pragmatic issue. There’s a Constitutional principle at stake. Do you support the 10th Amendment or not? Jim Robinson does.

>Let's try it and find out.

I guess not! What a pathetic display of impotent rage masquerading as informed opinion. Do you have a financial stake in the continuation of the Drug Wars or what?!

When Willie Brown is right, most freepers give him credit where credit is due.

Sarah Palin, political genius

That’s because they’re good people, and not petty, vindictive little crybabies that don’t understand the difference between debate and knee-jerk contradiction.

Lambast Willie Brown until you’re blue in the face. It won’t change the facts on the ground regarding weed one iota. Knock yourself out!
