I once read a long interview with John Phillips, and it sounded as if back in the day, the group members (with the possible exception of Mama Cass) would jump anything with a pulse. Of particular note was Michelle Phillips, his erstwhile wife, who would have extramarital trysts in the adjoining bedroom while he was up at night writing songs. One of her favorites was Denny Doherty, the other male singer in the group.
Since reading that I have never been able to listen to their music the same way.

Paul Krassner claimed that the LAPD held home movie footage of a Hollywood orgy with Sammi Davis Jr., Mama Cass, one of the Manson girls, and one of the victims of the Manson murders. I found this....

Singer and performer, Sammy Davis, Jr., was also a good friend of Elliot and this group, and Davis has been quoted as saying that they had all been together days before the tragedy, and were it not for he and Elliott each flying off to other gigs that week, they too could have been victims of the Manson Family.”
And Sammi Davis Jr. has said that he famously joined Anton LeVay’s Church of Satan for the orgies.
