Hey, we got to give credit, it was a Hoover, his brother said.

Have one that’s 20 years old, and still works good!!!

I’ll tell you something even more scandalous (confidentially, of course!) When I was a young lad of 7, my first cousin, who must have been 11 at the time, showed me her pee pee, and I showed her mine!

I quoted the article to you.

'My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father.

'Had this happened before? I didn’t know. All I can say is it was the first time I was aware of it. For a moment I was in my body, in that horrible truth, and then I slid back into a blackout.'

What part of my quote is incorrect?

"Over time, in 1980, I'm on the road with my Dad in the New Mamas and Papas, and I begin waking up after drug-fueled events with my pants around my ankles and my father sleeping beside me," Phillips recalled. "It didn't happen every day, it didn't happen every week, but it certainly happened many times. If you're me, you box it away. It's one of those things where you tell yourself don't look. There's a video reel playing in my head, and I've spent 30 years trying not to look."

"Dad said, 'We could just run away to Fiji, and we could take [his children] Bijou and Tamerlane and raise them as our own,' " Phillips recounted to Winfrey. "He was delusional, talking about living with me as man and wife, and raising my siblings, his children, as our children. The moment he tried to make it romantic, I thought, we're going to hell for this."

I was referring to your comment:
“Do you really believe anyone wanted to sleep with this skank”

She said she was raped by her father and your comment seems to suggest that a) it wasn’t rape it was sex and b) she was a ‘skank’ and therefore others would not want to rape her

I believe that is a comment on her morals. I see that you have stated you did not say anything about her morals. Let’s agree to disagree.

Well she did tell her sister 1997, before her father died. I believe it.

Re: “I also think this is dubious. The idea is shocking, but there is no way to determine if this is true. Her father is dead. It does seem to be a habit with Hollywood types to write books about incest.”

**********

If Mackenzie had ever had an ounce of credibility about her, maybe I’d believe it. But dad’s long gone, she’s off the radar, so here comes a book!

Step-mom Michelle has already jumped up to say no way did this ever happen.

OK, I think Michelle has more credibility than the daughter.

Redact Roger - I said I don’t believe her story. Yes I have always found her to be a skank. And yes I doubt seriously that many men, much less her father, found her attractive. The morals you suggest revolve around sex. The morals I believe are operative here are Hollyweird morals in selling salacious stories. Her father is dead, she needs money, she invents story concerning dead celebrity father and sells books. If her testimony is corroborated by others present at the time and if she can produce some verifiable evidence I will change my mind. But I have always thought of her as a lying skank, and so far have not had to change my mind. Sorry to be disagreeable.

I remember that her mother, on a talk show, bragged about their ‘openness’ policy. A bowl, she said, of condoms was in a prominent location about the house so her children (possibly legal age by then) would use them - she was self congratulatory about her progressive child rearing.
I get the impression that the children had a hellishly painful life with their parents and yet everyone was so impressed with their parents and fawned over them - what was a child to think? “If my parents are even half as great as everyone says they are, I can’t tell anyone how they really treat us, no one will believe me.” And/or “My parents are great. Why do I feel like a monster inside when I am around them- that must be my fault...” If my arm-chair theories are true, then McKenzie has not faced alot of this, still needs to believe that someone great (her parents, everyone says so) loved her and protected her. So we are not to ‘hate her father’ basically (adjusting my theoretical armchair here) because she is afraid to hate him herself (i.e., face what he was, that he didn’t love her, that fathers who love their children don’t rape them, etc.)

While looking for the "I'd hit it but I'd be terrified the whole time" quote, I stumbled across this particularly appropriate exchange...

here

Gurn ~ "Rest in Peace." Is that for all child molestors, or just the ones who make crappy music?

Lazamataz ~ No, pretty much just the musical ones.

Wow, that’s cynical.

From the First Letter of Zarguna to the Freepinthians (7:14): "The apple falleth not far from the tree."

But cynicism is unnecessary, where logic suffices. The story is a testimony against interest since she allegedly does not "hate [her] father." Therefore, it is likely to be true. If true, there is no reason to expose it to the world other than for material gain, since she allegedly does not "hate [her] father."

QED.

You are polite in your approach to the fact that we disagree and have no reason to apologize about being ‘disagreeable’. If only yours was the manner in which politics could be discussed with liberals. : )
