I wish I hadn't amputated the end of "'Torpedoed!' an English-made sea melodrama," on the second image. I would have liked to know more about it. Oh, well. On with our main feature.

Her real name was Ardis Ankerson and she was married to William Holden 1941-1971. They were the witnesses at Ronald and Nancy Reagan's wedding in 1952.

Torpedoed is apparently an alternative title for this English made film, and the age is about right. That's it. Originally released in 1937 as "Our Fighting Navy." Official U.S. release date is tomorrow, 9/25. When I saw mention of a movie called "Torpedoed!", filmed in part at Scapa Flow, I wondered if someone had a well-tuned crystal ball. In about three weeks "torpedo" and "battleship" are going to be commonly used terms in Times stories for a few days.
