Is THIS The Real Motive For Obama's Speech To Students?
BigHollywood.com ^ | Sept 2009 | by Patrick Courrielche

Here's an excerpt from the article that I think may point to how Obama originally intended to enlist the support of students:

"Backed by the full weight of President Barack Obama’s call to service and the institutional weight of the NEA, the conference call was billed as an opportunity for those in the art community to inspire service in four key categories, and at the top of the list were “health care” and “energy and environment.” The service was to be attached to the President’s United We Serve campaign, a nationwide federal initiative to make service a way of life for all Americans. " (end of excerpt)

The NEA verbiage has that same manipulative feel that I got when reading of the lesson plans to be distributed with Obama's speech to children. So I think this was specifically Obama's responds to opposition - harness the Arts and the children to his continuous campaign by claiming it's national service - have the tax payers pay the administration to control the media, arts, schools etc. in the name of public service. I found the article well written and insightful.

We may never know what Obama originally intended to say to students because once the public objected, the speech was probably scrubbed. The lesson plan materials referred to subject matter that Obama never discussed in the speech he ended up giving. Reading on the NEA propaganda effort, I came across this article which points out that the NEA was not merely out of line but was laying the foundation of a larger command and control effort. The article is excellent and the author really puts a focus on the machinery that the NEA was trying to establish. Here is a creepy quote the author captured from the NEA's call to artists to help shape the national dialogue:

"And if you think that my fear regarding the arts becoming a tool of the state is still unfounded, I leave you with a few statements made by the NEA to the art community participants on the conference call. “This is just the beginning. This is the first telephone call of a brand new conversation. We are just now learning how to really bring this community together to speak with the government. What that looks like legally?…bare with us as we learn the language so that we can speak to each other safely… “

Is the hair on your arms standing up yet?"

Don’t forget his little meetings with ‘religious leaders’, as well.

They really are trying to harness our patriotism. They can’t understand WHY we feel so strongly about our country and WHY we honor those who serve it but they see a USE for our passion and patriotism. So they have decided to try to convince us that Obama IS our country - what emperor would not be gratified to call our patriotism HIS personal property? They think we are stupid so they pour their efforts into slick presentation to ensnare us.
Think what a despot could do with our belief that our country is worth dying for.

I feel an acronym coming on... President’s United Student Service Youth! Liberals love acronyms. Especially those that you can pronounce.

Remember Obama’s speech to the children was scheduled the same week of Obama’s so called 9/11 “Day of Service.”

I think Obama was modeling his plan after the Young Poineers organization of the old Soviet Union.

We are just now learning how to really bring this community together to speak with the government.

Since they are talking about one part of one party they sure don't mean "government of the people, by the people and for the people" when they say 'government' do they? Pure Goebbels-like propaganda. There is no place for this in America. No place other than the bottom of a mine shaft that is.

Yes, and the quote you identified is particularly galling because its doublespeak talks about learning how to ‘speak to the government’ when it means ‘take orders from the government’ since, as the other of the article wrote, the NEA is THE largest funder of art in the United States.

How little would we know without the internet and the leaks it carries? School children would have received the speech without ‘interference’ from the populace, we wouldn’t know that the NEA was setting up the machinery the way it was etc. That, I guess, is the primary difference that is hindering Obama’s ‘Young Pioneers’ etc. Without the internet, we’d already be seeing ‘Young Pioneers’ uniforms on school children and when we asked why they were wearing them - we’d be told it was a sign of their patriotism, service to their country etc.

The WP already confirmed the speech was changed.
