In 1981, Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department's "no travel" list and Obama could not have used a US passport to travel to Pakistan. If he used a British passport, it would mean that he was born in Kenya. Because Obamas stepfather that adopted him was Indonesian and both his mother and him became Indonesian citizens themselves, a country that did not allow dual citizenships, if he used an Indonesian passport, it would raise even more questions that the American people need answers to. Then there is the question of forgery. Not to be a pain in the ass, but could you back the statement that Pakistan was verboten to US travelers. I have yet to see a real reference to it.
There are darker ways he could have traveled to Pakistan than the one you mentioned...
There are darker ways he could have traveled to Pakistan than the one you mentioned... and easier ones. He could have traveled to another country that didn't have a problem with Pakistan and flown from there... Or he could have flown under a fake passport provided by people we don't want to know about ... Didn't Oswald fly to Russia? Not saying that what Obama did was illegal. It's unlikely... odd - if you pin it down - ping me.
There was a travel advisory about going to Pakistan, not an outright travel Ban.
Doesn’t the left have some kind of hubub going over employees looking at Barry’s passport file or something?

Suggest you go look up US State Department Travel Advisory for Pakistan in 1981, No. 81-33A

I would like to see that too.
In 1981 the President of Pakistan was Muhummad Zia-ul-Haq an anti-communist who was aiding the Afghans against the Soviet invasion. It is highly unlikely that the United States had a travel ban in place at the time.
Travel bans are rare and usually used against the most hostile regimes (Castro’s Cuba, North Vietnam, North Korea, Red China, etc.) The US has usually had cordial or friendly relations with Pakistan. Indeed, India was friendly with the Soviets and less supportive of the US.
Things might have been more hostile during the Carter years but probably not beyond the Soviet invasion Afganistan. It certainly would have not reached the level of a travel ban extending into the Reagan years.
I was in Pakistan in 1979. There was nothing in 1981 that would have prevented an American from entering Pakistan other than Pakistani immigration officials.
This whole "birther" conspiracy is the wrong way to oppose Obama. If I were him, I wouldn't respond to document requests either; the Democrats benefit from the perception that the Right is populated with lunatics. The problem isn't his citizenship or his birthplace, it's his ideology.
“Less-than sign”, then Pee, then “greater-than sign” are our friends. I will now use the “less-than” sign, take a bathroom break, then use the “greater-than” sign. There, I feel much better......
Thank you, there was no ban.
The Legend in His Own Mind probably used a US passport. He could have used a Kenyan one has he still had Kenyan citizenship (until his 21st birthday), but I doubt he did. It would not have made any sense since a US passport was easier to get.
Each and every ‘birther’ would cease and desist tomorrow morning if 0bama would simply be as open and transparent about his personal records and history as he claimed his Administration was going to be.
No other Chief Executive in the history of our Nation has gone to such lengths and spent so much money on lawyers to keep the details of their birth, scholastic records, medical history, travel history, etc., hidden from the American people.
It is not an unreasonable question to demand that the person who is responsible for ordering our young men and women into combat where they may well shed their blood for America, to PROVE that they are Constitutionally eligible to perform that task.
What is so mindboggling to me is that Freepers can come up with so much damning evidence in favor of an investigation into Obama’s past — yet Cingress is totally mute regarding this whole affair. Do we even have a government, and if we do whose side are they on?
As a nation, we merrily allow a possible foreigner to have access to our nukes, control them, and be Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces, and government just sits there with its finger up its a—. Unf—kingbelievable!!
America, perhaps you’re not even interested in your own survival.
Did he train at an al Qaeda camp while he was there?
Didn’t the Chosen One say that he never had a passport until he was elected to the US Senate?
I guess one question is what was the name on the passport he used. When Obama applied to the Illinois bar, he swore that the only name he had ever used was Barack Hussein Obama. I suspect that the passport he used on the trip had a different legal name. And, if there was a visa, in what name was the visa issued?
