OK, so I'm serendipitously looking at a topographic image of a place generated with data acquired during the Space Shuttle topography mission. And I see a location that intrigues me topographically. And I say to myself "Where is that?". And so I do some investigating -- something you can do on the Internet, of course -- and I find out this is a very nice place. And so I'm going to let you guess where it is. It might be easy.
After the guessing is done, I'll show the image that led me to it.
3 clues.
Part of the area is a national park.
It's located near a major city.
It's also located fairly near the coast.
Have fun. All but the last are clickable to see larger.

Florida Everglades?
Acacia?
Lead,, Small rocks,,
oops, sorry—Acadia?
Got to be on the west coast. That tree in the second picture looks like a giant oak.
Relative lack of trees, but plenty of water in the summer, lends me to believe it is prone to heavy snow and freezing for most of the year, possibly on the edge of a desert. Lakes, but either either elevation in the south or near the coast in the north maybe Alaska?
Lots of evergreens with some desert. Has to be on the west coast. Looks like the Cascades in Northern California.
I was going to guess the Highlands of Scotland.
Point Reyes?
Lake Quinalt...although it looks a little dry in places for it....
Mt St Helens
What do you mean, Florida Everglades? I used to live near that area, and not one mountain or valley exists anywhere near South Florida.
Gates of the Arctic, possibly.
Near Portland Oregon? Waterfall reminded me of Multnoma Falls....
South Island, New Zealand.
I figured it out (I cheated). Interesting - more rugged than I would have thought. And I don’t believe it would be possible for my original guess to be further off.
Loch Ness, Scotland
I remember Washington state rained a lot, but never saw places like this, British Colombia?
(Two sayings about Wash state, if you lived there long, you'd grow web feet. And, if you took all the rocks out of Wash State, you can put Wash in a tea cup.)
