The aliens are here because they heard that Earth Girls Are Easy.
I’m a believer that there is probably intelligent life out there but if they’re advanced enough to come here they would probably have little interest in us aside from scientific curiosity.
As far as us going to other planets is concerned. Life is good but non intelligent life is best for us. All we need is life we can eat, water we can drink, and air we can breathe.

I hang on to the hope that they are out there, that they are coming and most importantly... that they eat democrats.

We are most likely “it” for technological life in this galaxy.
If they’re there, then they’re in another galaxy at vast distances. We’ll never know about them, and they’ll never know about us.
And, no, they couldn’t travel here either. Distances too great, and they would only be so “advanced”, constrained as we are by the age of the universe.
