NEW HAVEN, Connecticut — Yale lab technician Raymond Clark, 24, has emerged as a person of interest in the probe into the sensational slaying of brilliant university grad student Annie Le, sources said today.

Cops descended on the apartment building in which he lives with his girlfriend in Middletown, Conn., about 20 miles outside of the university campus in New Haven, keeping it under surveillance and pulling over cars arriving and leaving, questioning drivers.

I think the New York Post is being sensationalist and jumping to conclusions a little too fast... they should let the police do the work... besides... the bloody clothing is probably being tested for DNA and if Clark isn’t the one... NYP owes a BIG freakin’ apology...

If that isn’t a “deer in the headlights” photograph, I’ve never seen one. Creepy.

“Who is the murderer?” he repeated, as though unable to believe his ears. “Why, you, Raymond Clark! You are the murderer,” he added, almost in a whisper, in a voice of genuine conviction.

Raymond leapt from the sofa, stood up for a few seconds and sat down again without uttering a word. His face twitched convulsively.

“Your lip is twitching just as it did before,” the police official observed almost sympathetically. “You’ve been misunderstanding me, I think, Raymond Clark,” he added after a brief pause, “that’s why you are so surprised. I came on purpose to tell you everything and deal openly with you.”

“It was not I murdered her,” Raymond whispered like a frightened child caught in the act.

“No, it was you, you Raymond Clark, and no one else,” the police official whispered sternly, with conviction.

The article says a family member confirmed that he failed the polygraph and had scratches on his arms -- but family member says he was "nerved up" and that the scratches were from his cat . . . .

Dostoyevski doesn’t work for the Post, I don’t think.

If true, this is pretty much what I would have expected:

The police often think along the same lines, so maybe it’s not him and they’re off base.

The DNA will wrap this one up. His is under her fingernails; hers is on the clothes he hid in the ceiling.

This guy is toast. Wonder what his girlfriend thinks of him now?

In order for it to be Dostoevsky the sofa would have had to been covered with some sticky oily substance, the walls grimed with smoke, and the window curtains torn and stained....

If there are defensive wounds and bloody clothing, the DNA will nail him. If it's him. If not, it will exonerate him.

DNA was the biggest game-changer ever in the criminal investigation business.

The detective would also have to bear a striking physical resemblance to Mr Raymond Clark....

If! You don't know that yet and neither does the police and media...

How would YOU like it if the newspapers printed your name as a person of interest in a heinous crime and you were innocent? I wonder how your girlfriend would think of you now...

I don’t know. Two words:

“Presumed Innocent”.

That guy doesn’t look the type at all. He looks like someone I work with, but he doesn’t look like a homicidal maniac.

However he was there with his family??

Did one of the clan do this?

Though personally I’m holding out for the illegal alien janitor. He’d know the building that well...

(no I haven’t heard about an illegal alien janitor, but that seems to be the way these things play out in SoCal most of the time...)

Really? Maybe you're to young to remember the OJ Simpson trial ... if the perp happens to be black DNA evidence means nothing ... just ask the Simpson jury.

If you are wrong... I hope you are "real" enough to take note that many times what appears to be one thing... may not always be another...

And I pray that you don't get sent to prison for something you didn't do...

Neither did the Craig’s List killer, neither to most serial killers, they all look like “regular” people. Believe the person who did this has a sense of entitlement and he probably strangled her. I think the police have the right person.

A perp able to access the premises without leaving digital tracks, at least not his own digital tracks, that is.

WRITTEN BY ME ON MONDAY, 9/14:

I’m going to go on a limb here and say he’s a Caucausian male from a well-to-do family living off his parents who couldn’t deal with the rejection from Ms. Le because he has never been rejected by anyone in his life... becuase he thinks he’s the most interesting man in the world.

Methinks he’s going to look a lot like the Craiglist killer guy....
