Couple robbed while inside dumpster

WICHITA — A man and woman decided to give the phrase "dumpster diving" a new twist over the weekend, crawling inside one on North Waco so they could be alone.

But while they were engaged in what Wichita police described as "an intimate moment," they were robbed by a man armed with a pocket knife.

It all unfolded shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of North Waco, police said, when the man and woman, both 44, crawled into a dumpster for privacy.

A short time later, a 59-year-old man and his 64-year-old companion interrupted the couple inside the dumpster.

With the older man encouraging him, the 59-year-old man pulled out a pocket knife and took shoes, jewelry and the 44-year-old man's wallet.

Police were notified, and officers found the two suspects a short time later. The stolen property was recovered.

You've got that right! I've thought of a lot of really low stuff... but taking a date to a dumpster is just something I never would have thought of. :-)

Ya know... the two in the dumpster were either followed by the other two, or they were making noise and attracted them. I'm not sure what's worse... taking a date to a dumpster for sex, or getting robbed by some other slimeball with a pocket knife while hiding sausage with the lady friend IN the dumpster. :-) ... bad visual all the way around!

Yeah... ;-) Me and SP have been together since a few years before I went AD in 1985. I DID know a guy in my flight who got caught with another female basic trainee behind a dumpster at the bowling alley... but not IN in the dumpster! Seems to be too close to screwing in a big garbage can. :-)

Then again... if the guy is soliciting his female companionship from the likes of those willing to have sex in dumpsters, he shouldn't have much trouble finding another! I suppose it could be said that it's an advantage to have such low standards, but I think I'll just stay out of dumpsters for certain reasons.

Dude... put this in perspective. :-) Now you know that we're all prone to dumpster diving and I've found my fair share of treasures in them. But imagine there you are, in the dumpster because you saw something that caught your eye... and you KNOW how it goes... you see one thing, and you move something out of the way... and so long as it's not gross and nasty you can spend a goodly amount of time checking things out. Now imagine that thing one and thing two approach with their pocket knives and announce that they're going to rob you. :-)
