I got the distinct impression from the newest Supreme Court justice that wise Latinas just abounded.
Surely they would know what to do.
As for me, being a white male, I would have come to a different conclusion. /s
Good to “see” you, blam.
I was on a ski trip to Tahoe a bunch of years ago and was having dinner with my group at the top of the only casino in town.
When we were finally seated, there were 2 or 3 couples at a table next to us who had finished dinner and were just talking over coffee. Unfortunately, they also had 3 or 4 kids that were literally running around the tables in the restaurant playing.
As one of the hellions ran by me, I grabbed his arm, looked him in the eye and said "get your ass over to your table and sit down!!!@" I then stood up and said to the adults "This is a restaurant, not a playground. If you don't know how to teach your children how to behave in a restaurant then you have no damn business being in here!!!!!
They didn't say a word, they got up and left............
It was unbelievable how these people could allow their children to behave as they were doing in this restaurant..........
The parents didn't seat their unruly child in the middle of truly elite fine diners like yourself...
The couple believe her mild protests triggered the shocking comment - despite being seated in the advertised 'kids' zone'
.
I can’t stand misbehaving children when I’m spending money for a meal.
Kudos to the waiter.
There’s a great Italian place in the Springfield area of Northern VA, on Franconia, called Paradiso.
Besides really good food, they have a separate kids dining area. The kids have their own waitstaff, sit at plastic picnic tables and watch Disney movies on a big-screen TV while they eat.
The parents sit in the next room over and can watch their kids through the wall-length one-way mirror.
Why more restaurants don’t do this sort of thing is beyond me.
Hah. I admire your courage. I’ve experienced similar situations in the past, but my significant other at the time deterred me from taking action.
ROFLMSS!!!!!!!!!!
That is just too funny.
I remember once when I was a yung'un, probably 5 or 6, and going into a restaurant with my grandfather who had his dachshund on a leash. "Poppy, the sign says no dogs allowed" and my grandfather looked at me and said "It doesn't mean DeeDee."
That was in the mid '60s in Brooklyn, NY. But Pop was right, those signs did not mean his dog. Years later I learned that those signs didn't mean his dog in CERTAIN places. He was retired NYPD, and KNEW people (if ya know what I mean.)
As to the idea of permitting dogs and not kids, I'm all for it. A well behaved dog makes far less of a mess than even the most well behaved toddler. I tipped EVERYONE at our favorite Chinese buffet place when our daughter was 2 years old. There were a few times when the tip was more than the bill!
It's truly sad that so many "parents" are unable or unwilling to keep a rein on their kids out in public. What's even worse is that many of those same people will be the first to complain about other children in public. I overheard one such "parent" at coffee hour after church today. She was lamenting about a couple who's 11 month old started crying, yet she used to think it hilarious, and was insulted others didn't, when her then 3 now 5 year old used to run up and down the aisle during the sermon.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!
That place sound GREAT.
I agree with you, more places should do stuff like that
Yep, she can’t get enough Dora the Explorer and Elmo accessories, plus she kept asking the waiter if he had juiceboxes instead of margaritas.
Those who did the sacking have now been sacked.
My SIL gave us a framed print of that the 1st Christmas we lived in this house when our daughter was 5.
That daughter, who is now 11, knows my hot pepper jelly recipe as well as I do and often takes care of the seeding of the peppers :)
