Pit Bull Attacks Boy
WYTV (Ohio) ^

Posted on 09/12/2009 11:43:15 AM PDT by Chet 99

Just after 8:00 Friday morning, a pit bull allegedly attacked a 10-year-old boy waiting for the school bus.

Witnesses then saw the resident of a nearby home, 22-year-old Dustin Anglin, grab the dog and leave.

The dog warden arrived on scene minutes later. Dave Nelson, acting Mahoning County Dog Warden says, "I was able to make contact and he advised me that he only has one dog and that it's a poodle. The evidence is telling me, people say he put the dog inside the basement."

Anglin, at first, refused to return to help with the investigation, so the dog warden, fire department, and police waited for a search warrant, hoping to seize the dog in question. However, two and a half hours later, Anglin finally arrived and showed the unlicensed pit bull to the authorities.

Police arrested the Youngstown man on charges of obstruction of justice, failure to confine a vicious animal, and failure to have insurance on the pit bull. Anglin could also face felony charges for the injured boy.

Nelson says, "I'm gonna use every means I have to make sure that they understand that we're not gonna put up with this."

The corner where the incident happened is no stranger to kids. They line up every morning along Sheridan Road to head off to school, making some parents leary of leaving their little ones alone.

Mary Campbell, who witnessed the attack and has kids of her own, says, "To see this dog all of a sudden attack a child, now it really makes me want to come to the bus stop every morning to make sure all the kids are safe."

The dog will be tested for rabies and held at the pound.

I guess the owner abused this dog of peace. It surely is not in the nature of a pit to attack and maim /s

It is not the nature of the pit to attack and maim. More than likely IT WAS the owner abusing the dog. You can bet somewhere along the line this dog was taught to attack anything on two or four legs. My pit sees a child or anyone coming near us and she goes and sits behind me. I never taught her that either. Kindly remove your head from the last sphincter.

Its people like you that have their head up there sphincter. A lot of the articles include pits turning on family....good luck and hope you don't have to take someone to the hospital to get their face sewn back on....(Oh my, he has never bitten anyone before,) along with this one (my dog would never bite) and (he just ran out when I opened the door, sorry he maimed you). Then there is (you must have provoked him) and (he was only protecting the yard)and last but not least, (well she just had puppies).

When it comes to insults from pit lovers, your just a beginner...LOL

And you have just handed me the usual gibberish that I've heard a thousand times before. I guess ignorance is bliss. By the way, who taught you those amazing lines?
