Google this: 'Patriotism' (No 9/11 - Pushes "Day of Service)

Built into the internet giant Google's marketing identity is the quirky, distinctive way in which it incorporates little symbolic ‘doodles' into its logo on those days it deems socially significant....

So what touching, compassionate memorial have these creative denizens produced in tribute to this century's most devastating and deeply felt American anniversary?

Nothing.

You read that right. Google have apparently concluded that 9-11 is not a date of sufficient significance to warrant a gesture. Michael Jackson's birthday, yes. First hot air balloon flight? They had it covered. But the fatal flight of those four airliners does not warrant so much as a mention.

To add insult to injury, below the coldly bland, everyday-generic Google logo on this September 11th is a single subtitle, which reads "Today is a day to give back. Find a service opportunity near you." Apparently President Obama's decision to steer 9-11 toward a ‘National Day of Service' is more historically relevant to Google's liberal executives than the dark day of tragedy that inspired it: another notch in the arrow of leftist multicultural denial.

For the fun stuff, I use Bing. It’s better than Google anyway.

I try my best to avoid using the liberal cesspool that is Google. I don’t use it as a verb either such as, “Google it.”

Wow. I hadn't noticed before that Bing is a Microsoft company. However, I agree that Google is much worse.

From what I've read, Dell appears to be the only big player in tech that is NOT a liberal cesspool. Micheal Dell describes himself as a Texas conservative. If memory serves me, Dell's political contributions heavily favor republicans. I worked at Dell for six years and they never pushed liberal concepts. Compared to Google and HP, Dell is one of the good guys. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I really can't believe that you don't put SOMETHING on the main page. Everybody else is! The history page sounds good, but who knows about it if they didn't read it on the forums? (it took me 10 minutes of digging thru the help pages to even get here)
