"Just an FYI...Macaws can exert up to 600# psi with their beaks. They can crack Brazil nuts with no problem. These birds are not just a "parakeet".......surely animal control should have been called with a bird expert!"

This is my Congo African Grey, "Bart"

I got Bart from my very close friend who, along with his wife, breeds and sells birdies.

Jeff told me that us humans have about 65psi when we bite.

He told me "Bart" has around 1800psi.

Bart is a VERY SPECIAL birdie and whether it's 600-1800psi, he could, with NO PROBLEM AT ALL, TAKE OFF A FINGER WITH LIGHTNING SPEED!!

He has in the distant past, bit me down to the bone.

Yes it hurt, and I agree with you on the officer needing some "help" with the birdie.

I can put Bart upside down in the palm of one hand, and scratch his head and belly with the other and he loves it.

But believe me NO ONE ELSE HAS!!

This is "Bobbie Joe".

Even HIS bite hurts!!!

It was so great to see your African Grey. My brother had one. It was a really cool bird, though hands would freak it out. His mimicry was astounding. Whenever he'd hear the phone ring, he'd say in my sister-in-law's voice, "Honey? Telephone." Sometimes he do both the phone and my sister-in-law.

When we went to pick up some food at a bird place, I saw a hyacinth macaw easily crack open a Brazil nut.
