I hear and understand many people who say they deplore the fact that whatever they buy is not made i the U.S.

But if you could put your money where your mouth is, what premium would you pay for a U.S. made widget?

What Item and 2: there is so little made in the USA due to government regulation and taxation. That is why it moved offshore.

Your point is silly.

Specifically, if you had to pay a premium of say 15% to get an item made in the U.S. opposed to a China part would you buy it?

I think I would, really...

Please tell me your thoughts. thanks...

How about we just cut taxes and lower barriers so we can at least try to compete.

It all depends on the item. For the most part I prefer made in the USA goods. However there are plenty of things I would by from overseas that are traditionally from various places. Unfortunately things like japanese electronics are no longer made in japan.

I’d be happy if we simply had a president who was 100% made in the U.S.A.

What I won’t do is pay more for a shoddier good, that is what I was confronted with the two top versions of AAA key chain flashlights a couple of years ago.

The American version was not nearly as good yet it cost about $40.00 more than the Chinese model.

I would pay nothing to own a Obamma motor car.

I recently did purchase a pre Obamma Corvette.

I am sure that the manufacturing of new Corvettes will have to be vetted by one of his “Death Panels”.

Therefore they will quickly become extinct.

The same as I’d pay for any other product.

If the U.S. can’t compete making something, try the next thing.

No subsidies to losers.

I try to stay away from products made in the USA, especially if they are produced by union labor. Why would any red-blooded American want to support marxist labor unions who brought us the likes of Ted Kennedy and President Obama?

Whenever I see a Ford truck or a Chevy Blazer rolling down the highway, I say to myself "There goes another Obama supporter."

Buying American will only encourage our government to further increase taxes and regulations. What we need to do is send them a message that enough is enough.

1. We bought an American-made Vizio tv, and it was very reasonably priced. It seemed to work fine, so we made it our computer monitor and bought a bigger one to be our regular tv.

2. My kids are American-made! Don’t know how much the home-grown premium is, though, because we are still paying, and paying...

3. Our Japanese exchange student says that, in Japan, a Mexican mango goes for about $6.00. A Japanese-grown mango, however, can retail for $100.00. People will pay it, too, if they want to give an impressive gift. There are some wonderfully made American things, aren’t there? We just have to support the craftsmen and artisans who make them. I’m thinking of Bowie knives, Reuter (?) pipe organs, See’s Candies, for starters. I pay more for California wine, by about 50%
