Did anyone see the commercial on Fox this evening about Gardasil for males?

It is recommended for boys as young as nine years old, to prevent GENITAL WARTS!

God help us!

I want someone to ask Barney Frank if genital warts of the anus and throat are covered under ObamaCare!

I haven’t seen the commercial but I don’t have a problem with males taking Gardasil if it works. The virus that causes genital warts is the same virus that can cause cervical cancer. The girls are already taking it....no reason not to leave the boys out on this one. lol

50% of women between roughly ages 24 and 50 have HPV.

Promiscuity does have its consequences.

trouble is it only protects against 3 of the 50 or so varieties of HPV.

its also killed several people.

it only works for five (5) years, in addition to the other problems. so why the heck would they even advocate this to young kids?

Since it is already being mandated for girls as young as that, why not boys?

I don’t understand the problem. The age issue is because some children (I know, not conservative children) are having sex at an extremely young age and once you get HPV, you have it.

All my daughters have had the vaccine. If I had a son, he would too. Boys catch the virus and can develop cancer from it just as easy as girls.

LOL -— that’s funny.

I truly dislike Tim Kaine for lots and lots of reasons, but I have to admit he actually did one thing right as Gov. of VA. When the mandatory Gardisil bill for all incoming 6th grade girls hit his desk, he amended the opt out provision on it.

I don’t need to provide any reason for opting out of it, I just don’t get it for my daughter. She started 6th grade this week, without the vaccine.

You are a very smart Mom.

It is a very hard decision to make when it comes to the well being of our children and the drug companies!

Frankly, I do not trust the experimental drugs used on non informed Americans!

It seems that we only learn after the destruction happens!

I wont dispute with a parents choice, if 0'assholes Bill goes through we know it is over for our children!

I do not support or believe in the witchcraft medicine available.

Yeah...let’s just fill our bodies with all these vaccines. I wouldn’t want my son to take that or my daughter if I had one. If you don’t sleep around, you aren’t at risk!
My husband recently had a tetanus shot. But it wasn’t just a tetanus shot. It was diptheria and pertussis too. Of course he wasn’t told about the others and he didn’t even realize it until I read the info page he was given. It’s no wonder our own immune systems don’t work. We are being vaccinated to death!

My two year old grandson was given the chickenpox vaccine and he broke out all over his little body with shingles!

He was too young for the treatment and had to suffer until it ran its course on him.

I know the pain from just a tiny little bump of a shingle on me and this baby had them all over! Talk about pain!

Actually...that's not quite true. It only takes 1 sexual encounter with someone who has the virus to be at risk. That would include chaste men and women who marry someone who has it or faithful wives and husbands who have unfaithful spouses. :( And don't forget non-consensual sex (rape, molestation).

Some try to characterize it as negatively as possible but if they really think that they can only get exposure through this virus by having sex with a lot of people, they are sadly mistaken. Basically....everyone is at risk unless they have some kind of force field that protects them from any of those situations. rofl

My brother had the chickenpox 3 times before he finally developed a sufficient immunity to it. He was in high school (16) when he got the last case.

My children were vaccinated because I didn't want them to have to go through a similar situation. BTW...anyone that has had chickenpox is at risk of shingles, too.

Autumn...I believe that some are under the impression that if their children abstain sexual intercourse until they get married, they are safe from the risk HPV poses. Unfortunately, sexual intercourse is not the only transmission route and there’s no vaccine to protect against adulterous spouses and non-consensual sexual contact. So....
