I was stationed in Kenai, Alaska (Coast Guard) then. I usually got up, showered and went to work without turning on the boob tube. For some reason, that morning I turned on FNC (sounds like about the same time you did) and saw a smoke cloud over what was obviously NYC (stationed at Governors Island earlier in my career). I paused to see what the heck was going on - fire?, subway accident?. Had just enough time to hear a plane had flown into one of the WTC towers and try to figure out what happened when the second tower was hit. Stunned, I watched for a while and ended up being late for work that day. Needless to say, the rest of my career was very different from that point on...

It saddens me that our dear leader is trying to dilute the meaning of 9/11 with Green Neighborhood initiative. So many perished and so many risked their lives to save others. We cannot and should not ever forget. Again, I thank you for posting this pic so I could make it screen background.
I'm getting ready to post a song that will bring tears to your eyes. 9-11 changed our world forever. I never knew there were people who were so evil, until then.
