"Ism's" are the bottom line within our conversations. Whether it be capitalism, socialism, communism, totalitarianism or Marxism. Some are similar, others are opposites.
"Ism's" are what defines us as political creatures.
The point of this article is WHICH "ism" is most beneficial to mankind. Personally, I believe capitalism is and has been most beneficial. But then, many believe after this financial melt-down socialism/Marxism may provide for the betterment of the majority.
That brings up another question: Why should any "ism" provide a better outcome for the societal contract?
The difference...
I think that your point sums up the topic completely; although we could conclude that Liberalism is a Mental Disorder whereby truisms are designated as false and things not substantive are weighed by good feelings and intent; not empirical or factual outcome.
I like that quote. Who was Bill Vance? He's a Pro Bass Fisherman with a TV show.
Wait..
That's Bill Dance... never mind...
:-)
Which "Isms" Work?Hmm 'isms'.
"Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people."
