Those people remind me of where this nation is right now, about to be overtaken by communists.

Dang. That is some incredible photography. I've never seen photos almost 100 years look that clear and colorful. The pictures I take now don't look that good.

That old man in #17 standing on the guy’s shoulders is quite impressive.

And those were the good old days!

Thanks so much for posting this: it's beautiful!
Photography is 90% light & composition. In addition to getting both of those nailed down, Produkin-Gorskii threw in another 50% with technical accomplishment that would be good today, and amazing for the time.

thanks so much for putting those up. I find it real fascinating to view early color prints of just about anything. those were as clear and sharp as could be.

Those are amazing. I was expecting Turnervision colorization.

Wow! It is astonishing how we take these technologies we have today for granted. Imagine the joy of those who first captured scenes in color, true to the setting colors.

"A single, narrow glass plate ... was placed vertically into the camera.... He then photographed the same scene three times in a fairly rapid sequence using a red filter, a green filter and a blue filter." ALL of those people remained perfectly still for three separate exposures?
I'm speechless.

Reminds me of some of the WWI footage that is being colorized, when I saw it on TV it looked as if your are there.
To: Steelfish
We use to look at old black and white photos and think “ ohh that’s so long ago “ and now since we have seen these colorized photos, those people and places look like those pictures were taken today,,,, amazing indeed.
