DULUTH, Minn. -- A University of Minnesota Duluth student has been sentenced to electronic monitoring and probation for trying to blackmail his cousin into sending him nude photos of herself.
Twenty-four-year-old Anthony Phillip Dzik of St. Paul was sentenced Friday to 45 days of electronic monitoring and five years of supervised probation.
Prosecutors say he threatened to steal her identity and hack into her friends' accounts if she didn't send the nude photos.

To put it another way, the charges would be the same if he had never gotten any nude photos and/or had never asked for any nude photos. If he had asked for something completely different and done these things in order to get that "something else" (having nothing to do with nude photos) -- the charges would be the same.

Dzik, a UMD senior, will be in court this July facing four felony charges: identity theft, harassment stalking, criminal use of encryption and criminal defamation. Dzik has also been charged with two misdemeanors: co-ercion and computer damage.

Well, it's obvious that she's old enough to sell nude photos of herself or give them away, if she wanted to in the first place, and that would not be a crime, in and of itself.
The crime really had nothing to do with the nude photos. If the guy did that and was only asking for her to model the latest fashion outfits, being fully clothed, the charges would be the same.
The issue of the charges was not really about the nude photos.
