FLABBY fans have a fat chance of seeing their sports heroes grabbing gold at the London 2012 Olympics.

Games bosses have rejected a bid to make the seats bigger at the new £500million stadium in ­Stratford, east London

Instead, they plumped for standard seats – meaning super-sized spectators will have to slim down if they expect to get a comfortable spot in the 80,000-­capacity venue.

A source said: “The rise in obesity in Britain led the powers that be to ­consider larger seats and more space between them.

“Britons are the heaviest ­people in ­Europe, with almost three in ten ­considered obese."
