YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Rich Ellerson has Army playing option football again and the initial results were promising. Kingsley Ehie ran for two touchdowns and Army beat Eastern Michigan 27-14 on Saturday night as the new Black Knights' coach became the first to win his debut with the academy in 18 years. I know this isn't world changing news or anything but it's nice to see the Black Knights finally start a season off right. Hopefully this is the beginning of a new day for Army football. Just thought I'd post this so Old Grads who happen upon here (or any Army fan) can offer their opinion.

Eastern Michigan isn’t exactly a powerhouse.

Enjoy it, because Navy is going to whip them, yet again.

I mis-read the headline and briefly thought that Army had beaten Michigan -- which would have REALLY made my day.

Congratulations anyway.

Glad to see that the CIC hasn't made them play TOUCH football (yet).

haha! I really wished NAVY had won that game. Would have been great to see the sucknuts lose. But would have hoped to see EMU win. I want to see Ron English succeed there.

It’s funny because I have been reading some of the comments on a prominent OSU message board and many are upset with Tressel and displeased with Pryor’s passing game.

Can’t wait to watch the OSU/USC game. I hope USC tears OSU apart limb by limb at the Shoe.

If Navy had beaten them TRUST ME all you would have heard is “The boys were looking ahead to USC”> When they got their asses kicked by Air Fprce in a bowl game the excuse was “ they didn’t want to be there>” I think the same thing was said about the Sput Carolina bowl games too. BTW I remember when, back in the 80’s Michigan was ranked one or two and nearlylost to Navy.

Michigan lost to App St, Oregon, Utah, etc. I saw Fl ST tear UM a new one back in 91. Sure it happens and all teams are subject to getting upset. OSU lucked out yesterday and congrats to the Buckeyes for eeking one out. As for next week, I hope USC KILLS OSU. I want to hear dead silence at the SHOE with the lone exception of the USC fans. I want to see Buckeye fans calling for Tressel’s firing (which will happen if USC annihilates OSU).

I don’t think Tressel will get fired if he loses to USC. Deep down inside I think most rational buckeye fans (although there are not many of those around) expect USC to win, even with a freshman QB. But regardless, they will have an excuse if they lose, you can count on that. Maybe they will try “Dadgamit we was looking ahead to Indiana.” In the meantime “Go Trojans”. God, I never thought I would say that.

Oh, I don’t think he’ll be fired but that there will be some OSU homers who will be calling for him to be fired.
