Happy birthday to Mr. Lazenby.
I was reading that he has three kids under 6. He was married to Pam Shriver the tennis player. They had three kids together.
Interesting site at that link.
Alas, according to IMDb, they are currently filing for divorce (and it has gotten very ugly). It says of the kids that the oldest is 5 and the younger twins turn 4 next month.
Highly under-rated. One of the best Bond films IMO.
I still think Daniel Craig is the best Bond. But yes, OHMSS is the best story. Second best is “For Your Eyes Only” (Bond battles a crook for Cold War technology.) Realistic, no gadgets except for Roger Moore’s humor.
For Your Eyes Only has that creepiness factor with Moore’s romantic dalliance with a skater who could have been his granddaughter.
Which girl? Bibi or Melina?
Happy B-day. Anybody who got to share the screen with Diana Rigg is a lucky fellow. She’s still the best Bond girl, IMHO, and is, in fact, the only one he ever married. BTT.
>>>Realistic, no gadgets except for Roger Moores humor.
As Fleming wrote the character, Bond was not a superman, and not a clown. Just a man of ordinary pleasantly homely appearance, well educated and trained, but mainly a man who just refuses to give up. Musician/actor Hogey Carmichael was the model for Bond’s looks. In one of the early novels Bond expresses annoyance at people mistaking him for the celebrity as anonymity is essential to his work.
Up until Daniel Craig I always argued that Lazenby’s Bond wasn’t perfect, but still caught the character much more closely then anybody before or after. I enjoyed Connery but that was Robospy, not Bond.
As to Moore, in one novel Fleming has an aside that Bond on his own time is writing a book he hopes the department would adopt as a training guide. I can’t imagine Roger Moore’s Bond even being able to read a textbook, much less write one.
Bibi.
But she started it. He responded by offering to buy her ice cream.
He means Lynn-Holly Johnson’s Bibi, except he never made a play for her, she was always hitting on him... and when she tried to get him in bed, his response was for her to put on her clothes and he’d buy her an ice cream. But the age of his granddaughter ? She was 31 years younger, so daughter is more in order.
Up until Daniel Craig I always argued that Lazenbys Bond wasnt perfect, but still caught the character much more closely then anybody before or after.
agree...He's the best / Sean...
...Moore, the worst.
This was one of my favorite British secret agents. His name is Harry Palmer.

I was leaning towards Brosnan as the worst, too smarmy, embodying the worst aspects of Moore, but Craig may be the worst on one single ground... he’s simply miscast and is the extreme opposite of Brosnan, like a cold-blooded henchman. He’s like a less charming Red Grant playing Bond.
But Lynn sure was hot though.
Micheal Caine, The 2nd Best British Secret Agent, Is Good.
