It's not often you see a goat in a department store in Britain.
Fortunately a new website is opening a window for Britons onto the bizarre, often alarming, always hilarious shoppers who patronise American budget store Wal-Mart.
'People of Wal-Mart' (www.peopleofwalmart.com), launched by three men in their 20s in August, has gone viral, becoming the latest star of the Internet. Hits increased by 700 per cent on August 27 alone.
The site features the gloriously absurd attire of Wal-Mart customers in photographs sent in by bemused fellow shoppers around the country.
And in addition to laughs, it's causing a legal and ethical storm, as outraged bloggers slam the site as defamation and an invasion of privacy.
There are images of fat people in sweatpants, a man clad in a Captain America costume, a Batmobile, a monkey, a man with his shirt open to reveal his breast implants - and of course, many, many images of mullets.

Wal-mart has good prices, but you have to have fortitude to go there. Some days I just can’t do it. I have seen things that have scarred me for life.
A walk through WalMart is a walk through “The Far Side.”
Went to the site and was elated that I did not find a picture of myself.
Phew! I’m doin’ alright.
Blonde, animal magnetism... rawr!
I LOVE IT! This will definitely cut into my FR time. I especially love the fact that all the sensitive bloggers hate it.
As a full time RV’er I loves me some Walmart!
/I’ll have to start ‘dressing up’ when I go now so maybe I’ll become FAMOUS!
Wow. Guess I won’t be shopping at Walmart for awhile...
A rural 24x7 Walmart is a very strange and scary place after 1 AM.
You guys are all a bunch of snob elitists. The reason why I like Wal-Mart is precisely because of the people. Wal-Mart has done more to promote racial hegemony than any other store or gov’t program in history.

LMAO!!! Bookmarked.
Only if they can tie the video into some business or money-making project they're doing.
YouTube in itself, is free to watch, and there's no charge to upload videos, unless they're of the strictly commercial variety.
My 11 year old daughter is a “cat lady”. She’ll probably dress just like that woman someday. Whaddya gonna do?
I love our Walmart. Do not go on Sundays. The Mexicans shop en masse. They pretend they are in an open air Mexican market. Entire families stop to chit-chat in the middle of the aisle oblivious to other shoppers trying to pass.
I found that a lot of Brits thought they knew all about America because they'd been watching our news, movies, and TV shows their whole lives. I had to correct more than a few Brits on their misconceptions of America while I was there.
But overall, I found them to be very hospitable people, who normally had high very affinity for our culture and our country.
The feeling was mutual.
Thank god she is wearing that yellow dress!! I could only imag..... Nevermind :o)
