I saw some beautiful graffiti in NYC back in the 1970’s.

“I saw some beautiful graffiti in NYC back in the 1970’s.”

There was some in Santa Monica in the late 1990s as well.
I don’t know what sort of deal the city made with the graffitti sprayers,
but it seemed to be well restricted to the windowless walls of a
few small business buildings.

I’m pretty conservative, definitely lean to Thomas Hart Benton murals
and Maxfield Parrish paintings...
and run LIKE H-LL away from the droppings of Jackson Pollock
(a student of Benton’s!!!...believe it or not!)

I guess I can say that the more abstract and colorful the “bombing”
of the graffitti, the more I like it. But I do go nuts when they splatter
some innocent’s office, home or some public space without prior permission.
