In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Satrap
Noun
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

A++
van jones has a few more news cycles to go before obama even notices the fuss......theOne and only is too busy worshiping himself.
in OUR country satraps can be voted back out on the street in the next election.
A+
a trap to ensnare your mind with BIG words? LOL
A+
“worshiping himself.”
I’ve said it before, and I’m not the only one-he shows many of the signs of a person with narcissistic personality disorder-those individuals are a danger not only because they are fixated on their own perceived greatness and agenda, but because they can be manipulated and turned into a puppet by smarter people pretending to be worshipers.
Clinton was like that too but I think he was also a lot smarter than this doofus. I think Clinton controlled his own destiny but the zero has never been in control.
may i rant? thanks.
Once again the method of fundraising for young sports teams is to BEG. i just got back from the safeway and 6-7 yo football players have their helmets out asking for DONATIONs. GOOD GRIEF, SELL SOMETHING would ya? this just hand out, give me $ mentality irks the crap out of me.
one of the biggest fundraisers the firefighters do around her is a boot drive.........yep, they stand in front of the station right in the road and hold out their boots for drivers to donate into.
I haven’t seen that but most of my FB friends lean right.
I posted this on one of the anti-presidential address to school children threads, but only one person responded. This is my third iteration, an improvement IMHO over my first post:
(if you don’t recognize the tune, then you are too young — or ancient)
We dont need indoctrination
We dont need your thought control
No Marxist dogma in the classroom
B-O, leave them kids alone
Hey! B-O! Leave them kids alone.
All in all its just A-
nother Barak in the stall.
I agree with your rant-nearly every weekend, there are kids at the 4 way stop at the farm road intersection, asking for donations-every group from Little League to soccer teams. I, also don’t know why they can’t sell something, like the Girl Scouts and others do. There are always cookies and candy being sold by school groups, and bake sales at least once a month at the community center. My daughter asked me awhile back why kids didn’t sell stuff any more for activity groups.
Clinton was WAY smarter than Obama, I think-I’ll bet he was a better lawyer, too. He was the puppet master-Obama is a puppet.
My daughter wants to buy me a birthday lunch at my favorite Chinese place in Boerne, which will be nice. This is the first time in 15 years I’ve celebrated my birthday without Mr. Texan5.
I like that-the song was the first thing I thought of when I heard about the school speech.
Happy Birthday! I think you’ll have a nice lunch, spending it with family. Those animals at home will be hoping for a doggie bag when you get back.
You just prompted me to check the birthday list....sorry for not posting your birthday yesterday, when at least a few of our students showed up!
...so here is a lighthouse cake, did I mention I love lighthouses?
and have a very Happy Birthday. Good food, good company....I hope you are having fun.
the weekend is a quiet time in the classroom, so I will mention my knees and risk boring everyone. I am back on the elliptical and watching movies. I love my new doctor, celebrex and being able to work out again. progress is good.
Thank you both for the cakes!
