Pretty puny round, isn’t it?

Well it ain't a 9MM +P++, that's for sure. From what I've been able to scrounge on the web it's superior to the .380 (not saying much, I know) and very roughly comparable to a sedate .38 Spl. Note the use of 'very roughly'. The 95 grain JHP moves just a hair under 1000 fps from what I've read, but I'm going to Chrono the Silver Bear stuff when I get a chance.

Since the barrel on the 82 is pinned and fixed I imagine it would take a bit of work to convert it to .380 although a quick Google search says that it can be done.

But since I've found a source for what seems to be cheap, plentiful JHP rounds I don't think I'll do it.

What I am going to do is get a couple of those DuraCoat kits Squantos turned me on to. Mrs. L's is going to be redone in a nice shade of pink or purple while mine is going to get a somewhat different color choice.

I'll do a full review of this thing once I get a chance to make it go 'bang' someplace they'll let me set up my Mad Gun Scientist Equipment.

Take care.

As long as there are JHPs for it, it’s perfect for its niche in its price range! Milsurp for practice, JHPs for carry, good to go.

My few makarov house an shop spare guns are loaded with glaser safety slugs. Silver or Blue grade beats JHP for that caliber on soft mouth breathing bottom feeders.

FYI that is IMO best load for 9x18.

Now that said also consider treating these old surplus gems with Militec1 or something 300 turned us on to....nanolube.

My rare double stack makarov is as slick as my custom clarke meltdown 1911A1 after the Militec1 process.

CZ82 project is ON !

Stay Safe !!!
