Not With my Kid

Obama's Sept 8 Visit

TOPICS: Education
KEYWORDS: obamachildren
My kid is now grown. However, were my child still in school, I know very easily what I would write on the note I would send excusing my child from attending school on Sept 8:

“Our president was elected without the usual vetting. Considering the number of records he has sought to hide (at great cost) from the public, the socialist/anti-American associations he had prior to the election, and his clear lament about “negative liberties” in the Constitution, he would never have been granted even a low-level security clearance four decades ago. Indeed, no one would have had the gall to even nominate him.

"His objectionable ideology is made even clearer now that he has surrounded himself with advisors/czars that have views so radical that their presence raises the question of Barack Obama’s own private character and his patriotism.

I would teach my child to be polite to Obama out of respect for the Office of the President. I do not, however, want my child to hear anything this man says in any context which renders the man any respect, and certainly not where respectful follow up is rendered to him, such as worksheets. He has spent considerable time abroad criticizing his own country. So how does he expect patriotic parents to turn their child loose to attend school on this particular day? Indeed, I am teaching my child that this is the most dangerous man we have ever had for president, a critic of his own constitution who “loves” the country only for what he is trying to make it into: a fascist state.

What I don’t understand is this. There is a great deal of outrage (well placed) at a single payer healthcare system. But many of the people at this website send there children to the public schools which is exactly the same thing a single payer education system. Where’s the outrage at being forced into a single payer school system? Is it because the school boards are locally elected? If Obama decides the death panels should be local and locally elected, would that make Obama Care okay?

Zero’s attempt to indoctrinate school children is outrageous only partly because he is being so blatant about it.... but I wonder why parents aren’t up in arms EVERY DAY about the liberal indoctrination their children are receiving from the NEA controlled public schools??

My letter to local school super...

Mr. Superintendent,

As parents of a 4th, 8th and 12th grader in ISD schools we ask that you not show the President’s upcoming live broadcast on the Sept. 8th at any of our schools at any level. We find it very suspect in timing and filled with political motivations and feel it has not place in the classroom and will not let our children being used for political propaganda. We are not interested in this President’s indoctrination of his beliefs and political views on our young school children and young teenagers. These are our public school supported largely by taxpayer dollars and find it a big waste of time, energy and money to participate in this event. We’ve had children in ISD for the past 12 years and largely have been very pleased with the education and handling of any issues we encountered so we hope you act on our request. We think an fair alternative would be to put a recorded version on the misd website and let parents decide if they want to particpate.
If the decision is to broadcast this event we will remove our children from schools for whatever time necessary on the 8th to protect their involvement in this activity (including watching the event and participation in any discussions/forums as suggested from the govn’t websites) whether it’s for an hour or the whole day. We hope you will take action on this matter before weeks end so we can plan accordingly for Tues. school day. Please follow suite along with the other major school districts in the area that have chosen to not broadcast this event.

The education system will not be responsible for keeping our children alive...thats the difference. the education systenm is also supported at the local level...there is no comparison. It is also supervised locally, giving the people control...not the government...I bet you don’t have any kids, otherwise you would know this stuff.

Um, the education system WAS a function at the local level (state) until Carter federalized it by creating the National Education Agency.

I do have 3 children. 2 went to private school, the last one is being home schooled.

Good for you, i did look into if the schools in my area would be partaking in this sept.8th address the students nationwide,( out of curiosity) and apparently our schools in the area aren't aware of it, Thank God! My children ( all teenagers now )have seen and heard enough of this new president, ( without to much influence on my part, really) and have made there own minds up they've heard enough from him already, and don't want to hear anymore more bullxxxx, as a family we believe our new president is really over stepping his boundaries as far as family issue go , privacy, when and what children should believe or be taught, etc. .

So if the Obama Care Death panels are elected locally you be cool with it? As for me, I have 2 kids; they're in private school. I would no more allow a government panel to decide upon my kids education than allow Obama death panels to decide my health care options.
