Adding former Sen. Edward M. Kennedys name to Logan Airport is a dumb idea.
In a June 19, 1964 plane crash, the senator almost lost his life.
The senators nephew, John F. Kennedy Jr., died in a plane crash off Marthas Vineyard.
Rep. Lori Ehrlich, a Marblehead Democrat, filed legislation today that would rename the airport Logan-Kennedy International Airport.
Everybody needs to slow down and take a breath.
The Senate Institute at UMass might be nice, then a school here or there and maybe a hospital wing or cancer center, but lets not overdo it and lets be smart.

Why not name it after his nephew the late John F Kennedy Jr., whose flying inexperience cut short his life as well as his wife and sister in law. That would make as much sense.

>>I cant wait for him to say the entire name
“Kenna-kunna-kunnadee”
gives new meaning to “seaplane” !

Hey, not everyone from M’head is like this idiot. A perfectly dumb idea, since there already is a Kennedy airport, in NYC.
The old line at home is this: Dawn rises over Marblehead, a saying reserved for folks whose heads are a mite thick.
It was sailors from Marblehead, btw, that made it possible for Gen.Washington to withdraw his army from Long Island across the East River to Manhattan when the Brits kicked out butts in the Battle of Long Island.
Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
one of the Kennedy sisters also died in a plane crash. and Joe,jr, was blown up in a plane iirc. that family has trouble with planes and brain intrusion (bullets, tumors, trees, and lobotomy).
Epic fail.
That's General John Glover and the men of Marblehead rowing Washington across the Delaware to attack the Hessians at Trenton. Sigh. My town used to be patriotic.
Yup. Sure were. As fas I know, Marblehead is still a bastion of patriots. There are some in MA, and many of those spots are on the north shore of Boston(or used to be).
Kennedy Airport? That has a nice familar ring to it. Maybe the one I grew up next to could be renamed Idlewild.
