Stop us if this sounds familiar: A very lucky person wins the lottery and expects life to change for the better, but instead, things go horribly wrong.
The latest "victim" of sudden wealth is a young woman from the U.K. who won millions of bucks several years ago, only to lose the vast majority of it shortly thereafter.
Callie Rogers was just 16 when she won a whopping $3 million in the lottery. Six years later, she reports that she blew untold sums on drugs, partying, exotic cars, and breast implants. A staggering $730,000 went to designer clothes alone, Ms. Rogers explains in an article from AOL. Says Rogers: "I honestly wish I'd never won the lottery money and knowing what I know now I should have just given it all back to them." She's currently left with around $32,000.

I nominate Callie for the Dumb Ass of the Year Award. Will anybody second the nomination?
Still enough money to get trained or educate and get her butt to work.
“A fool and her money are soon parted.”
Couldn’t they at least use the post surgery pictures?
Sudden wealth doesn’t make one smart.
A trainer at my health club recently broke up with his girlfirend -— about a week before she won 5.3 mil. You will love this part. Her dad bought her the ticket. She does not want to share it with him. Nice daughter.
Instead of breast implants she should have opted for a brain implant.
I would be curious as to how much of the money off the top went to taxes. Also, why is a 16-year old allowed to play the lottery? Using her milk money from school?
More anecdotal evidence that trailer trash is not confined to the North American continent.....
Can I have a shot at doing that??
I promise no drugs, no plastic surgery, no $730,000 in clothes
Second!
I once won $100,000. I spent $75,000 on a car, women, and beer. The rest, I wasted.
My friend, if they had those, I’d go back to school, get my M.D., and do implants on Dems for free.
I applaud for supporting these worthy industries. She has just been spreading the wealth. I nominate her for the “Spread the Wealth” award. I congratulate her for stopping her spending habits before crashing in debt.
I didn’t think they had trailers in Britain. I thought they were all quaint cottages. Maybe she is Tudor Trash?
It would be an interesting study to see how ALL lottery winners managed their good fortunes.
We always hear of cases like these, but I wonder how most winners deal with their good fortunes.
Exactly. $32,000 placed in savings is a nice cushion for a 22 year-old. Of course, her spending habits are probably so out of whack that it'll be gone in a month (if it isn't already).
At 16, it’s hard NOT to be a dumbass.
Almost any kid would have trouble with that much money.
It’d be nice to see the new funbags, though.
It’s never money wasted.
You give a 16 year old 3 million and expect her to do what? Invest? Hahaha. She did just about what you’d expect a kid to do with that money...spend like crazy.
