Here is my question: If you felt it was necessary to leave our America to avoid the politics, where would you go? I had an interesting conservation with a friend today and he made the statement that he was considering researching for a new home. Since I have never given thought to the subject, I was completely stumped. I have no idea where I would go.
Didn’t Iceland just have a complete economic collapse recently?

If you want to know what communism is, watch this interview.
“Id go to Mexico...to get away from illegal aliens.”
Would you sneak in there?
Macau. Great Russian hookers.
LOL!!! Did Wienie put you up to that? :)
There is no political situation that could make me leave the US. If I won a huge lotto, I may for extended periods, but nothing could make me leave permanently.
Indeed Texas...
I’m not going anywhere. I owe it to all the Revolutionary heroes in my family tree to keep their dream alive.
It’s the socialists who should tote their hatred and smugness off to one of those hellholes they keep insisting is so much better than America.
Australia or New Zealand
Nowhere!
This is my country! Land of my birth!
This is my country! Grandest on earth!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.
This is my country! Land of my choice!
This is my country! Hear my proud voice!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.
I’ve said for years that if things get too bad I will get to TX - seems like a good place to make a last stand.
I would first look to see if there are any secession states (Texas? Alaska?) If not and fighting was a hopeless cause, I have no idea where I'd go. lol
Out of the country. Alaska.
My husband lived in Finland part time for about 18 months due to his work. It’s very expensive and highly socialist. One of the guys he talked to was a professional who had to work an additional part time job just to be able to afford extras for his family due to the taxes. The good news though is if you are in Finland and become “needy”, they will give you anything and everything you want...including household appliances.
How about Uruguay? Like Paraguay, but with a coast.
“Easy for American men to pick up a Filipino Gal?”
VERY easy to find a nice girl. Your age, weight, and looks means nothing.
I first met over 1000 online (IRC). I never used a matchmaking site.
I’ll stay and fight.
Well, it looks like my family came to America during the Revolution and wound up fighting for freedom if some of their monikers are true. Muster rolls show I lost family in the Civil War on the Union side and had one Confederate Great-Great Grandpa make it home again. Lost family in WWII, and had one survive a Japanese POW camp. My father served in Korea. We lost a beloved cousin in Vietnam, and my son is presently serving.
I’d say for myself, I’d have to stay and fight. Too much would otherwise be lost.
Have you even ever visited the place? It's great in the abstract, but live there for three months or so and reality will slap you in the face.
In the capital, there are no street signs or house addresses. Think about that and go from there.
The climate is delightful, the people generally great, but things even people on welfare take for granted here are sometimes impossible to get at any price.
Just google "Costa Rica Horror Stories," when you have a few hours to spare --- and enjoy.
