The 48-year-old female was visiting from California ...

She was unfamiliar with the area and did not carry water, bear spray, a map or a cell phone with her. She became lost and had jogged to the Idaho/Montana border before turning around.

The Sheriff's office reminds the public that recreating alone in unfamiliar areas can be hazardous, and carrying the appropriate equipment ...can save your life.

We usually find these folks anyway. Next spring, when the snow melts off the bodies.

"Wilderness hiking can have hazards like any other sport. One of these hazards is bears. To help avoid close encounters with bears, attach bear bells to your backpack, wrists or walking stick. Kodiak bear bells help bears know that you are in the area and gives the animal time to leave."

Bear Bells (set of 5) Canadian $22

Laughable if it wasn’t such an idiotic thing to do.

But then maybe she was looking for Yogi, just lucky she didn’t find him.

Good thing it wasn’t the China/N. Korea border. That one is a doozy.

Cute bells. Maybe Michelle could attach them to her new *sporty* sandals.

Bear country eh? Need one of these:
Marlin 45-70.

Also some aspirin for your shoulder if you have to use it.

The first time I heard that was on a backpacking trip in Alberta, told by the guide in a face so absolutely straight that I durn near popped a vein trying not to bust up. The looks on the faces of the city boys and girls was absolutely priceless when he finished "we can tell brown bear scat because it has little bells in it. Grizzly bear scat smells like pepper."

Actually saw a Grizzled B'ar on that trip. It was in Canada, so the only weapon I had with me was this hiking staff. Suddenly it seemed like I was carrying a toothpick.

Yes, those are the shoes she wore yesterday.

In third world countries, occasionally the very poor wear almost identical sandals made out of old automobile tires. On first glance at the photo, that’s what I thought Michelle was wearing.

..and in those happy little african countries fighting for their freedom from the white oppressors they often use the same automobile tyres as necklaces...on their fellow blacks who don’t agree with them...

filled with petrol and set on fire, quite an accessory that is.

It is Winnie Mandela's favorite accessory.

another hero of the liberation of africa, like her husband the terrorist. Like the muslims, the 'liberated' blacks will simply destroy each other after they have totally destroyed their countries.
