Police have identified the people who were found murdered in the New Hope Plantation mobile-home park in Brunswick, GA. The original death toll was 7, but it rose to 8, with one of the critically injured people dying.

In a statement, police identified the dead as: 44-year-old Russell D. Toler Sr.; 29-year-old Russell D. Toler Jr.; 22-year-old Chrissy Toler; 15-year-old Michelle Toler; 19-year-old Michael Toler; 40-year-old Brenda Gail Falagan; 46-year-old Guy Heinze Sr.; and 31-year-old Joseph West. Michael Toler was the injured person who later died at a hospital, bringing the total dead to eight.

On Monday, police also released the recording of the 911 call made by Guy Heinze Jr. (pictured), who arrived early Saturday morning to find seven members of his family dead and two more critically injured.

"My dad's dead, my uncle's dead. There's like six. My whole family's dead! It looks like they've been beaten to death. I don't know what to do, man."

Interestingly, several hours after the 911 call, police arrested Guy Heinze Jr. They have charged him with drug possession, tampering with evidence and lying to a police officer. Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said he hasn't ruled Heinze out as a suspect, but he also isn't calling him a suspect in the killings.

I have searched several times but have not found any related story on FR. I live in this region and this story caught my attention. Very weird, and the police are not releasing much info at all.

Curious as to opinions about this case - especially from fellow "sleuthers" who follow criminal cases. My guess is it is a drug-related hit. And that the 22-yr-old is heavily involved.

The charges that have been filed are pretty general. As you suspect, they may arise from Guy Heinze Jr. trying to conceal some sort of involvement with drugs. However, he may just be a user who was trying to get rid of drugs and paraphernalia that could cause him trouble during the investigation. He still could be innocent of the murders.

Obviously, the critically injured person, assuming they recover enough to be interviewed, is going to be key in understanding what happened.

Good thoughts. However, I saw earlier on Fox that the only survivor is 3 years old. He/she probably won’t be too much help, unfortunately.
