What Would Mary Jo Kopechne Have Thought of Ted's Career?
opinionistas.com/ ^ | September 1, 2009 | Melissa Lafsky

Posted on 08/31/2009 10:52:39 PM PDT by Keltik

We don't know how much Kennedy was affected by her death, or what she'd have thought about arguably being a catalyst for the most successful Senate career in history. What we don't know, as always, could fill a Metrodome. Still, ignorance doesn't preclude a right to wonder.

So it doesn't automatically make someone (aka, me) a Limbaugh-loving, aerial-wolf-hunting NRA troll for asking what Mary Jo Kopechne would have had to say about Ted's death, and what she'd have thought of the life and career that are being (rightfully) heralded.

Who knows -- maybe she'd feel it was worth it.

Read that last sentence again. The absurd, preposterous insanity of the left may take a while to sink in.

The typical braindead commie way of thinking. No sacrifice is too big for "the cause." As long as it's someone else who is doing the sacrificing. This moron is a real ditz.

Few doubt it kept the presidency from him.

Perhaps that may be her greatest legacy.

You are reading an actual psyop technique.

Melissa Lafsky does not believe what she said, and it wasn’t a mistake. Liberals are taught this savage technique to deliberately shock the rational mind with a horrific statement. It is usually created by simply reversing an atrocity and not only blaming the victim, but declaring the victim to be happy to have been victimized, in the name of truth, justice and love.

The technique is designed to create mind-stopping revulsion, from which the targeted reader is supposed to feel despair over the insanity of the liberal opposition, and the hopelessness of disagreement with them. From this, the targeted reader is supposed to give up resisting.

No joke. This is a real technique, used a lot by “trained journalists.” And all it takes to become one is to replace their own hearts with a turd - and be able to laugh about it.

Now you know what they mean by “professional.”

I think I just went off against Melissa Lansky unfairly. Apparently, her line about Mary Jo Kopechne’s reflection of being murdered for Ted’s career: “Who knows - maybe she’d feel it was worth it,” was supposed to be sarcasm.

I still stand by my description of the psyop technique, it’s used all the time, and it’s hideous.

But damn, Melissa, even for sarcasm that was harsh.

She was A Kennedy staffer for his brother. It's not a stretch to think that had the incident (murder) never happened. She would have continued her support for anyone named Kennedy.

I didn’t read it as sarcasm; this column was widely discussed last week (published August 27), and I don’t remember anyone else taking it that way either.

I didn’t read it as sarcasm...

I didn't either at first, which was why I went off. But when I re-read the article, it seemed the writer was supporting the value of Mary Jo's life, and apparently meant her final line as a sarcastic smack at Ted.

Still, it's over the line, IMO.

“Scientists investigating the disorder commonly agree that psychopaths are often marked by the following traits:

* Lack of empathy, guilt, conscience or remorse

* Shallow experiences of feelings or emotions

* Impulsivity and a weak ability to defer gratification and control behavior

* Superficial charm and glibness

* Irresponsibility and a failure to accept responsibility for their actions

* A grandiose sense of their own worth”
