I must have missed something in this story.

Wasn't this guy incarcerated in the past and a registered sex offender. Now add kidnapping to that list and he is a religious person?

He was caught because a cop on some campus became suspicous when the perv was handing out religious tracts.

He is a religious nut who was trying to start his own church.
