These extraordinary pictures are the first glimpse inside the squalid back garden compound where Jaycee Lee Dugard was kept captive for 18 years. A hand-painted 'Welcome' sign leads the way to a rundown world of tattered tents and outbuildings amid overgrown trees and bushes. The first words Jaycee said to her mother when the pair were tearfully reunited were: 'Hi Mom, I have babies,' it has emerged.
The 29-year-old's stepfather also claims that she had developed a powerful emotional bond with her abductor, Phillip Garrido.

New International Version
“...but he does often quote the Christian Bible.”
Satan also quoted the Christian Bible. Quoting the Bible doesn’t make someone a Christian.
You can bet the police are one step ahead of our thoughts.

I just heard the same thing. Horrible!
One of the Berkeley officers said that one of the girls looks exactly like the father. Both have blonde hair.
That is why he is referred to as a religious nut.
Color, ethinicity and a mustache.
Again, Old Testament or New?
black and white????
Exactly. He’s in the same category as Jim Jones, Koresh, etc. The MSM is so lame they can’t distinguish cults from main-stream religion.
The NIV is the #1 selling Christian Bible in the US.
Re: “The neighbors knew something bad was going on. They discuss how the men would line up at the tent and enter one at a time and discussed how the guy must be running some type of prostitution tent. Too bad they all decided it was none of their business.”

Yep — I’m such a “butt-in-ski” that this horror would’ve been over just days into it had I been around that neighborhood.
He preached salvation and referred to his ministry as his ‘church’.

Hey, do you remember the Children of God cult of the late sixties and into the seventies? It may exist today for all I know.
I grew up with someone who had to be pulled out of there by her relatives. It was hardly ‘religious’ though they quoted scripture a lot — it was more of a cult based commune with tons of ‘free sex’ and similar.......... not good — today she is STILL all messed up, at age 58!!
She needs her privacy, our prayers and God's healing hand.
If you say so. Millions would not agree
True - and he is. My main point is that the MSM (as well as a number of hanger-on blogs) typically try to use things like this to paint "Christians" in a bad light because of guy's like this - even though believing that God talks to you out of a box, and orders you to rape 11 year-old girls is about as far from Christianity as you can get. This guy was a "religious nut" in the same sense that Jim Jones or David Koresh was. But he wasn't a Christian by any means.

n. The Christian church characterized by an episcopal hierarchy with the pope as its head and belief in seven sacraments and the authority of tradition.
A bit self-serving of a definition. Since there is no pope in the Bible, there's no need for someone to swear fealty to the pope to be a Christian. In fact, having to do that seems dangerously cultish itself.
