"I made a mistake by setting it down the way I did, and I apologize if I offended anybody out there," Sellers said. "I was asked to bring it out, last minute, didn't know who to give it to. I got hyped up and put the flag down. It was in the heat of the moment."
Without seeing the incident, it is hard to judge but, man, who doesn't know to treat the American flag with more respect than that??

Idiot. OTOH, I can’t stand Dan Snyder and I’m sure carrying the flag out on the field is just another one of his marketing gimmicks. Go, ‘skins! Kick Dallass!

I’ll wager Chad Hennings, Napoleon McCallum, Pat Tillman and Roger the Dodger knew better...

I’m just trying to visualize this and I’m guessing he runs out to the middle of the field holding a U.S. flag with the rest of his teammates and, seeing nobody to hand the flag to, simply flings it to the ground so he can run to the sideline with the rest of his teammates. Horrific behavior but could have just been a brain fart and not some political comment.

A player carries out the flag, shouldn’t there be someone else to take it from them and carry it off the field?
