Need computer help: Userinit.exe unable to locate dll
Vanity | 8-29-2009 | Frantzie

Sorry to clog the board with a vanity but I have a problem. It is an extra older machine running Windows 2000 Professional. Our office had power problems and I did not have it on a power backup and it lost power.

I am glad I can fix my own gear. The yo-yos I see in Beast Buy do not impress me. I would work at my local one since it is so close. My time there would probably be brief since I am not a ripoff artist. One time a BB manager got a hold of my resume and called me up. I told him I would be interested in a tech job. He was like a broken record saying he wanted was customer service.

I dont understand why I’ve been able to upload many pictures
to several folders, but just this past week it wouldn’t let
me get there. Not even the easy upload option.

What do I have to do to get on FireFox?
I'm not too savvy in this area.

Thanks. I cannot get Windows to boot after keying in my login/password in Windows.

How do I boot to a DOS command? I guess if I get to DOS I can type sfc/scannow

Thanks

I think it is pressing the F8 as the computer boots.

If not, try the ESC or DELETE key during boot up.

That should get you to the start options menu. The menu should have a DOS option.

Most computer and IT professionals are far left wingnuts, and are afraid of God-fearing Americans.

He may have come to the right place but you didn't, troll. You need to work on the vernacular - conservatives don't usually use the term "God-fearing Americans" in this context, "wingnuts" is a locution more typical to liberal boards, and in any case a fairly high percentage of FReepers are, in fact, IT professionals, starting with one Jim Robinson.

And so you're outed, spamboy. It was just that easy. Have a nice day.

Hey, while we have a computer thread, what do folks recommend for home budgeting and financial record keeping? Money? Quicken? Or what? Thanks.

I gave up on Quicken when it became glutware.

Now, I use a more basic ‘freeware’ program called Money Manager Ex.

LMAO!!! so true... and the majority of them are too shallow to do actual phisical work on them, so they use simple sys' like MacNsucks :D Winblows is a pain.. but adds notches to your belt when you can get it up and running better than any macfan ;)

No thanks as Apple aggressively pushes the gay and liberal agenda. I have an iPod and it is an overpriced piece of s**t. I am no MSFT fan either but I do not support Obama supporters with my money when I can avoid it.

This includes GE and their companies plus Disney/ABC and others.

Thanks. Tried it but I need Windows 2000 Pro ROM and cannot find it. I bought multiple copies years ago and did not throw them out as far as I know. I will keep looking.
