A good friend of ours from church also happens to be the head nurse in charge of health and all school nurses in our district. I will ask her Sunday about what is going down around here about such stuff.. I will also be asking our family doctor about quarantines and such on Monday when I take our daughter in for her TDaP shot (DTaP? — tetnus, diptheria, pertussis)

Amy, did your “ 9 year old” get swine flu? Not sure that is what you meant...or that she just returned to where she might be exposed.

Can this flu just be treated with regular remedies? lots of fluids, soups, rest??

I’m sorry ... I just meant with school starting there will be a much greater chance of exposure.

I kinda worry about getting on the plane to DC also. Think I will pump both of us full of vitamin C.

Thank you so much. I just knew in my gut I should've kept her home from school this year, but didn't because of this or that...I just hope we will all be fine.

But now, we are all afraid if this has started going around in her school that she will bring it back again, as it bounces from kid to kid there. Maybe we all get less sick from it the next time around, but when they were all in school it was a never ending cycle of colds and the flu and whatever other bug was going around.

I may not send her back at all.

He said no one out unless absolutely necessary. Course, hubby has to work, but he sees many people and is in their homes, people from all walks of life.

I'm not sure the money is worth it for him to make all those other people sick, but I generally feel that way any time we have a monster sickness in the house. He is self employed so can usually take a couple of days off if HE is sick.

However, if this thing goes round robin through all of us, there's no way we can stay in the house for a month or how ever long this takes.
