A woman who was snatched from a bus stop as an 11-year-old child in 1991 turned up Thursday after being held for the past 18 years in isolation in a backyard compound by a convicted sex offender who fathered two children with her, police said.
The details about her time in captivity emerged after Jaycee Lee Dugard surfaced at a police station in Northern California, nearly two decades after she vanished outside her home.
Police said Phillip Garrido, 58, held her the entire time as a virtual slave, sheltered from the outside world in tents, sheds and outbuildings in his backyard in suburban Antioch.

A Web site containing statements apparently from Garrido and others indicates that he gave a demonstration in Pittsburg last month to prove “the Creator has given me the ability to speak in the tongue of angels in order to provide a wake-up call that will in time include the salvation of the entire world.”
Garrido also had a printing business, some acquaintances said. Tiffany Tran, who runs Furniture Gallery in Brentwood, said she had seen and done business with “Phil the printer” for six years, as recently as last week.
She recalled Garrido as being “a little different” and said he constantly talked about religion and showed her a device through which he claimed could control sound with his mind.
“Some people have a story behind their smile, some don’t - he did,” Tran said. “He was happy-go-lucky, but you knew there was a story behind it.”
She said he was very religious and talked about how God had been his salvation.
“He loved God. He said God was amazing,” Tran said. “He talked about how much God had changed him, that he had been corrupted with womanizing and with this and that.”

I am watching the news right now. They are saying that the two children, aged 15 and 11 have never been to school at all. She had her first child with Garrido at the age of 14, and with no medical care.
If I were her stepfather, I’d put Mr. Kidnapper in the ground at the first opportunity. Imagine the hell that poor guy went through.

Antioch is an old rural community that has now been absorbed into the suburbs (although still on the outer edge). The property is in the older section where large lots are much more common.
To be honest it appears that the parole agents really dropped the ball on this one. You can see from the satellite image that there is something in the back. Though it is difficult to tell whose property it is.
I would think that a satellite image of the perverts property would be routine, at least in this day and age.
Meanwhile Arnold wants to let out over 50,000 inmates from prison to save costs. If there is just one reason alone to keep these bastards behind bars where they belong its scum like Phillip Garrido. If he had been in jail where he BELONGED when he committed rape in 1981 Jaycee Lee Dugard would never have been abducted
The address is 1554 Walnut Ave, Antioch, CA. Do a Google maps search and go to satellite view. I think it's probably the one with the blue tarps. Basically a big lot in a crummy-looking neighborhood. It looks like an unincorporated area, although I don't know if it really is.
Antioch/Pittsburg were an evil vortex hovers over the area.
Corruption and really creepy things are common.
Left the area just shy of my 18th B Day to escape.

I am willing to bet that your children have not been kidnapped, rapped, forced to live in a tent with a hole in the ground as their toilet and had children at age 14.
I think you are being a tad sensitive to the comment and distracting from the real tragedy of this story.
This is not about home schooling.
I did not take that statement as it is a bad thing they had not been to school. I just thought it meant that they were probably never seen, had no friends, had never been off the property they were held. If no one knows you are alive, you are never missed. Very sad that no one knows you were ever here.
sex offenders always repeat. why do they keep turning them loose on society.
I think it is your obligation to have your children schooled. they maybe OK now, but what about later.

I know it is not about homeschooling, but it didnt even seem relevant. The poor children have been sex slaves of this creep and all they can cry...they have never been to school!
