NEW YORK (AP) - Author Dominick Dunne, who told stories of shocking crimes among the rich and famous through his magazine articles and best-selling novels such as "The Two Mrs. Grenvilles," died Wednesday at his home in Manhattan. He was 83.
Actor-director Griffin Dunne said in a statement released by Vanity Fair that his father had been battling bladder cancer for some time. But the cancer did not prevent Dunne from working and socializing, his twin passions.

Now this is a tragedy. May the angels sing him home
well damn....a big lib but fun writer and erudite speaker...suffered some serious tragedies in his life.
God speed sir.
What’s up with this thread (another rhetorical)
I alternate between a fresh reload and “Document does not exsist on this server”
Sorry for the double post.
Damned paranoia....I do exsist, don’t I? Or is the the Poltergeists?
acted weird for me too
Gee, I guess now that Obama is the POTUS and Kennedy (D-Chappaquiddick) is dead there won’t be any more crime to cover. /sarcasm off
Crap, this is funny...You are the only person I can post a reply to. None of us exsist...
maybe this Bavarian Clinic isn’t so good after all
RIP Dominick. Hopefully, you and your daughter are finally reunited. As far as the New York literary scene goes, Dunne was about the only one that didn’t give me a rash. He and Hitchens are/were the only things worth reading in Vanity Fair.
You don’t exsist either. That’s why I had to add you to a reply the Free ThinkerNY.
Now he’s the one I’m sorry to see pass today. Every time I saw him on tv, it reminded me of his daughter, Dominique, who was murdered.
I read the book “An Inconvenient Woman” and saw the movie. A brilliant novel and excellent plot.
RIP Mr. Dunne....after Bill Clinton left office, Domenick Dunne said that Bill Clinton was the type of guy who walked into a party dressed in a tuxedo with dog sh*t on the bottom of his shoes.
Wow, not only can I not reply to others on this thread but now I can’t reply on other threads. Maybe we’re all getting put on the WH email list. Excuse me while I grab the tin foil and crawl under the desk.
Very sorry to hear that. He had been hospitalized with Farah Faucett, getting the same experimental treatment.
My heart always broke for him since his daughter was murdered and the killer had hardly any punishment.
Awww, RIP, Mr. Dunne. You were always entertaining. I enjoyed his Power, Privilege and Justice show on TruTV.
Power, Privilege and Justice...interesting series.
RIP Dominic with your beloved wife and daughter who died too young at the hands of her violent boyfriend.
