Welll....I wouldn't describe what I watch as crap, although there is a whole bunch of stuff that I have blocked from my favorites list. I still find quite a lot that is either entertaining of informative...the Food Channel has some good shows and there are quite a few religious channels available.
Oh, I know there are good things to watch on cable or satellite. I just got tired of flipping through hundreds of channels - and still, I wasn’t really entertained. And they kept jacking up the prices.
When digital TV came around and I could get a decent picture for free, I decided to quit my satellite addiction. I haven’t missed it at all and now I’m getting some good books read.
BTW, how are your eyes doing since the surgery?

There are a lot of quality shows on cable and satellite. I just got tired of flipping through hundreds of channels trying to sift through the dross. AND they kept raising the prices
Once digital TV came and gave me a decent picture, I canceled my paid TV and went for the free channels.
There still isn’t much for me to watch though, so I’m getting so reading done.
