Thanks for the extra information.
So why would her husband put a deaf/blind dog in her car without letting her know?
It appears to me that the dog might go to work with this woman every day... why else would the husband have put the dog into the car? So did she really not expect the dog to be in there, or like several parents who have left their own children to bake in a vehicle, did she just “forget” and is now using the excuse of not having known????
I know for a fact that this happened to a friend of a friend - someone I have actually met. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer to be sure, but not evil either. I’m always happy when we hit fall, as the potential for this type of thing goes way way down.
Maybe we could look at it differently.
1. 16 year old dog, blind and deaf. It probably had other ailments.
2. Very likely. it should have been “put out of its misery” years ago.
3. Maybe the dog was kept alive, not for the dog’s benefit, but her own. [To my shame, I have done this, myself.]
4. OR, maybe out of a “love for animals” gone to seed, like a little old lady with 100 cats — they end up sick, underfed, unclean...
5. Maybe “subconscious” euthanasia?

OH that is sad.... windows down on a vehicle - perhaps he should sue them for theft for reaching into his car and taking the dog.
